After reading all of the rave reviews about this bar I was looking forward to checking it out. However was very disappointed. The bar has a nice cafe feel about it, the relaxed atmosphere and chilled decor gave the place a good vibe.
However the staff don't seen to know their arse from their elbow, with only one bar man who was working at a snails pace, a stressed out, irritable and over worked waitress meant a 1hour wait for a drink, and as lovely as the cocktails were the long wait left a sour taste, and we left shortly after.
The drinks are not cheap and the bar was busy so I don't understand why this place is being run on a shoe string.
I won't be going back any time soon.

Bar Chocolate is a unpretentious little cocktail/light snack bar, slightly off the beaten track in the heart of soho ..

.. and we saw Rhys Ifans in there .... what's not to like !!

Bar Chocolate is a dependable little bar, off the main Soho drag, hence you can actually get a seat here. Which is always a plus in these parts. Bar Chocolate has some decent wines and cocktails as well.

I thought Bar Chocolate was going to be a desert bar! WRONG!!! It's this awesome funky little bar that caters for a non-pretentious yet hip market with an easy going and relaxed atmosphere. Best be there early to get a seat as it can get quite cosy. I didn't get to try any of the food, but it looked scrumptious nevertheless. I have my eye on the large bowl of Nachos and the Meze plate/cheeseboard thingy! mmmmm yum!

I simply cannot believe that anyone could hate Bar Chocolate. It is a treasure indeed. The fact that the consumables within bear no relation to the name of the place is of absolutely no consequence in any case and does not warrant Bar Chocolate a demerit. This is laid back, very low key and not at all shiny. Hoorah! I say. It's also good value which surely deserves another cheer. I hope it never closes. It would be a crime.

Sure, the atmosphere in Bar Chocolate is nice, but everything else isn't. The food is mediocre and overpriced, and - the cardinal sin - if you're going to call an eating/drinking establishment 'bar chocolate', you had better have at least something chocolatey on the menu that's reasonably good!

Our hot chocolate was terrible, weak and powdery. McDonald's, at least, is sweet (but not good, of course). The chocolate chip cookies must have been days old and didn't look (or taste) like they would have been decent even if they were fresh out of the oven.

And did I mention it's expensive?

Don't go here. It sucks. A lot.
