I was extremely underwhelmed at the prospect of dinner with an old friend last week when he suggested Bar du Musee in Greenwich. It was a short trip for me coming from Canary Wharf and so I couldn't come up with a reason not to go. I had walked passed the front door of this venue and thought nothing more of it. Stepping through the door, however, you discover the real Bar du Musee that opens up into the back, with a gorgeous conservatory feel. It wasn't extremely busy but had a lovely warm atmosphere. The young boy who seated me was very attentive until my friend arrived and was extremely friendly and helpful throughout the whole evening. The food was also a pleasant surprise. We both had the chicken liver parfait to begin, the appley chutney was delicious, and for the main course I had the steak and my friend chose the duck. My mouth is watering again at the thought. Both of us were stuffed but are already planning our Christmas meeting there again. Outstanding food and flawless service.

Used to be a great place for lunch, but not any more. Despite being only half full (on a Sunday) the service was dire. It took ages for the staff to take the order and despite them checking the order a further two times after the initial order, the starter didn't arrive, only the main course. The menu has shrunk to less than half what it used to be, and although the food was good, the portions of side orders of chips were tiny. Paying took forever. Having made the staff and manager aware of all the mistakes as they happened, there was not even a hint of an apology. Will never return (used to come here a lot but never again)

We have just had a terribel evening in this bar, for a cost of almost £90!

The service was poor and slow. The food was good but the lack of care made it awful. We had to ask for our order to be taken, the meal was slow in arriving.

For a wine bar the choice of wines were limited. The cheese came without enough crackers, asking for some more, took over 10 minutes; for water crackers!

The service was over 12%! When I asked to see the manger, the waitress then walked over to him and he walked off, not bothering to come across and addrees our issues!

I will not be going back and would tell anyone that for that price go to 'Inside' brilliant food and service!

Bar Du musee use to be lovely so sad it has come to this...very poor.

I love Bar Du Musee! There is a great conservatory with a vast collection of antique-looking chairs. The staff have always been incredibly helpful and polite.

The food is very good at served promptly. Bar Du Musee is also baby-friendly which makes it a real pleasure for us parents to go there with young children.

Bar Du Musee is always busy, has a good stock of beers, wine and champagne and a cracking atmosphere, what more could you ask for? I haven't yet eaten at Bar du Musee but promise I will try!
