This is a pleasant, ordinary, pub with a mixed clientele and a fair number of mostly male regulars who are well known by the staff. It televises major sporting events and shows a lot of horse racing which appeals to those customers who like to bet. The almost wholly female staff are pleasant, friendly and efficient. The range of drinks is limited to what the customers come in for: lager, an ale, shorts and wine. This is not a real ale drinkers pub. There is a juke box which plays a good selection of music but only at the behest of customers and staff. Music is not played consistently. A friendly pub which provides a good drink and snapshot of Willesden life.

I wasn’t so keen on Bar Lulas, it felt as though it was trying too hard to be young and hip when it would have been fine just being a normal lively pub. It had a great look but the whole package was just a little much for me. It may be that I mention Bar Lulas to my younger brother as I think it is a twenty-somethings cup of tea.

I do like a modern touch and Bar Lulas was stylish and lively with a young vibe to it. I went in around mid afternoon last Saturday and sat at the bar. The Bar Lulas staff were chatty and welcoming if not a little flirty, which is always quite nice when you go to a bar on your own! I shall be there again next Saturday no doubt about it.
