Located along Wimbledon’s Broadway, Bar Sia provides a decent late night club to locals, looking to shake their booty but not up for the journey into Central London. Based in an old Turkish baths, the decor retains an updated nod to its previous life.

The Venue
This trendy lounge bar and late night club is slightly out of the centre of Wimbledon but is well worth a visit. With a real urban feeling, Bar Sia offers plenty of seating areas to choose from with chairs, stools and comfortable leather sofas set on different levels. Tiled walls in the bar are a nod to its previous life as a Turkish Bath. It’s easy to imagine a mojito or two being whipped up behind the large bar, something Tom Cruise would have done in his iconic chick flick. Trendy canvasses and wooden artwork adorn the walls with the obligatory plasma screen in situ. Downstairs in the basement is a dancefloor that, although not large in size, isn’t as small as many.

The Atmosphere
Quite close to the Wimbledon Theatre, Bar Sia is handy to pop in for a pre theatre aperitif; however, it’s just as tempting to lay down roots for the evening, and with opening times until 3am at the weekend (2am weekdays) there’s no need to move on to anywhere else. There’s a real party vibe here – especially on Fridays and Saturdays – and it works as a club in an area that’s quite lacking in decent clubby venues. The clientele is made up of young Wimbledonites, keen to shake their booty without having to trek all the way into the West End.

The Drink
There are plenty of beers available at Bar Sia, including Budweiser, Becks and Corona, often included in drinks deals during the week. Cocktails are plentiful, with a three hour Happy Hour offer from Monday to Friday. If you buy two large glasses of house wine, the rest of the bottle is yours, so there is little excuse to not have a hangover the following day.

The Last Word
Bar Sia is a sophisticated bar cum club with tasteful interior design, funky music and attractive clientele.
