I organised my 30th birthday here. I am certainly glad i booked in advance because it seemed a popular venue to host a party. I hired the downstairs room. The room was decorated with balloons and there is a bar and DJ booth so it is ideal for this. All my friends commented how much they enjoyed the evening, and also the reasonably priced drinks which makes a change from some bars in London which are far too overpriced.
Cocktails are great and music covered a variety. I love a party and my 30th will be one I won't forget!

I couldn't big Bar Social up more! Although I live near, I only found Bar Social a few months ago on a very random night out and loved it! After then booking to have my 30th there, I read a couple of reviews which concerned me a little about double booking etc. All I can say, is that my birthday could not have been more perfect! (and from chatting to people re the double booking issue, it's only happened when people have not been able to reach the minimum number to hire the room, and so understandably they let others downstairs)! The downstairs space was a brill size and shape (you don't lose anyone and also you can chat and/or dance!) and the music was totally brilliant! In fact, everyone commented on how fab the music was and the staff were fantastic - so friendly and even with tonnes of people, the bar service was super quick with no one waiting! And. The lovely Bar Socialites also decorated the room for us with balloons! Brill bar, brill people and you will not be disappointed if you have a party/do or just a fab night there!

Thank you to everyone at Bar Social! I had my birthday party in the basement downstairs on a Friday night in August. The area was decorated for me, which was unexpected and looked brilliant! The music from the dj was great and we were served from excellent lovely guys behind the bar upstairs and downstairs. The bar Social guys went above and beyond for service and delivering a fantastic night! It is a regular venue I like to go to and intend to keep going in the future for brilliant nights!

I always have a fantastic night here, it has been my regular haunt for some weeks now and I never tire of it. The drinks and food are brilliant and the bar staff are the friendliest I have ever come across!! Thanks everyone for the good times and I look forward to plenty more in the future

I had my Engagement Party at Bar Social a couple of weeks ago. It was a great night and the music was brill.
However I would like to point out that we spent alot of money on food and prosecco for our guests, and we were quite annoyed by the fact that randoms kept being sent downstairs into our private party. Thinking that we had paid to 'hire' the venue, we had personal belongings, drink and food everywhere. It is really annoying to look back at photo's and see randoms in the background of our special memories, with our Prosecco from our toast in their hands, with no shame!!
If you do book this venue, make sure you insist on signs being put up to say that is a private party and save yourself the aggro!

l had my 30th Birthday last Saturday, what can l say, you feel so homely and comfortable too, l was even allowed to make my own cocktail, and serving my own guest for nearly 15 minutes, the bar staff are absolutely top glass very friendly and very happy too, DJ TOP CLASS tunes, l had all ready two of my friends booked their parties this September, l look forward to be back again.

Just celebrated my 30th birthday at Bar Social this weekend and I was certainly not disappointed! I was a little apprehensive as I had actually reserved an area in this venue after just reading reviews and visiting the website! My party had exclusive use of the mezzanine level, which was perhaps a little restricting in height room but was cosy and intimate. I arranged for nibbles to be provided, which was served once the majority of the party had arrived, and proved to be a real hit (though not sure the salami was a popular choice!) The bar staff were very friendly and the whole ambiance just perfect for what I was looking for - lively but not rowdy, slightly older crowd, playing good familiar tunes which was not too loud so you could actually have a conversation. The decor was interesting, rather eclectic but stylish and modern. Cocktails were reasonably priced and is even better if you can make it during happy hour. The only criticism was the fact that I had to fight for my free bottle of bubbly that is clearly stated on the website but got it in the end! All in all I had a fantastic birthday celebration in a great bar and I definitely recommend this place to groups of people and those wishing to celebrate an occasion. Thank you!

I had a fun Friday night when friends took me to this bar for this first time - music good and bar staff friendly!As a result I booked my 30th Birthday there on Saturday - BIG BIG BIG mistake!I wasn't involved in the organising but my poor boyfriend and friends were - I have now been told that every phone call to the manager/owner was hard work as he was disorganised and generally didn't seem to know what he was talking about, he even said on a call 2 days before that party that he didn't have any record of the booking even though they had spoken to him several times and been in to see him!All I can say is if you want to have a relaxed and fun night out JUST with your friends then DO NOT book this bar - as unlike what it states on the website you are not booking the room exclusively and the manager will send people down to your party if and when he feels like it with no prior warning, and when I tried to speak to him he was just rude and abrupt....Not exactly what I would call good management or customer service skills!It could have easily ruined my celebrations but instead my great friends made me realise that his continuous defensiveness clearly meant this was not the first time this had happened and there was nothing more we could do so we made the best of it!I was not surprised when I saw several similar comments on here -just wish we had seen them before we booked the venue and sent out the invites!!!

My advice for anyone thinking of booking an area at Bar Social is - DON'T DO IT. I've had a terrible experience from start to finish with the manager at Bar Social . The venue itself is fine, but he is inconsiderate and rude. He'd 'lost' my booking for the basement area on each occasion I spoke to him and was generally unhelpful, disorganised and difficult. Worse was to follow on the night....I offered to pay a deposit to secure the room (for my girlfriends 30th Bday) but was told that wasn't necessary. Then a couple of days before the party (after not being to find my booking again) he said that he reserves the right to allow other people into the area, but it obviously too late to consider changing the venue by that time. On the night itself he started sending people down to the basement without telling us "as it was busy upstairs" - other people were eating our food (that we'd brought from Bar Social) and we lost the feel of it being a private party. He tells you that you have the room reserved to get you there but really has no intention of keeping it as a private area. When we spoke to him on the night it quickly became apparent that he couldn't care less about the fact he was spoiling a special night and all he was worried about was how many people he could cram into the place in get money through the tills - I totally appreciate that this is a business and weekends are the busiest time but to be so inconsiderate and damn right rude is just not on. In summary, the whole experience was a nightmare and I would strongly recommend against booking Bar Social for any event. Thankfully we still had a great night as our friends are nice people - which is more than be said for this arrogant, rude, selfish man.

Bar Social is a great bar for groups as they allow you to book areas, its a really nice intimate venue with fun music and great cocktails. The bar staff were friendly and helpful and i would rate the night out 10 out of 10. However I had an horrendous experience with the bar owner and it ruined my entire night.

We booked the basement weeks in advance, I offered to pay a deposit but I was told there was not need. Great all sorted I thought! But i phoned just in case a few days before only to be told I would be called back. Alarm bells rang. I had spent months planning my party for a group I only see once a year so I panicked! They did not return my call and when they did they were completely rude and vile to me and i found myself arguing for about half an hour. They had over booked another area and therefore we no longer had an area...except no one had actually bothered to tell me.

Eventually we did resolve the situation but it was stress and aggro i didn't need and the person concerned was VERY rude. A bar like this clearly doesn't need to rely on good customer service because it has a good reputation as a venue...i just think its a real shame that some individuals who work in this industry chose not to value and go out of their way for paying customers.

Never even made it to the bar and cancelled my booking... the manager made me feel very uncomfortable and almost guilty for booking the place, I rang a few days later he had forgotten about my booking.

I confirmed the amount of people a number of times by email and he said he never received the emails.

I felt so uneasy at the lack of preparation and organistaion I decided to cancel. I am glad I did as he rang me very at night confirming my booking which I Cancelled 2 and a half weeks ago....

It seems there is one major factor between all the negative posts... Book at your peril.

I had my birthday party at the basement bar downstairs. Amazing decor and cocktails.

Though it was ruined when the bar manager told me I had promised him a certain amount of people and that he hadnt got enough money behind the bar. (lots of people were outside smoking, I had over and above filled the quota of people, most of my friends had tabs AND it was only 9.30pm so some people hadnt arrived)

It upset me when he started sending 'randoms' down and had got cross. It ruined my evening.

The bar staff were friendly enough but the manager needs a good lesson in management skills and manners, as he was absoloutely unprofessional and rude. We had a fun night, as it was our friend's birthday, however I willl not be going back there.

first time been there last Saturday celebrating my 30th Birthady, 40 of us, wasn't disapointed, l had the best birthday ever, staff and management made it so easy and so enjoylable, good atmosphere, well designed to, once again thanks.

This is definitely my favourite bar in Clapham! If you’ve never been, its a must so get yourself down there. Whether you go on your own or with a group of friends you will always be made to feel at home - the bar staff are friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is always great. Whether you’re a beer or a cocktail lover you won’t be disappointed with the extensive choice on offer. I love this bar and its become a regular for me - check it out!

Bar Social is a gem - If you're a beer lover then you'll love this place - likewise if youre a cocktail lover you will also not be disappointed. The staff are friendly and the well installed time machine means that you can stay there all night and never know that your evening has run away from you :) I would certainly recommend to check out this bar - you won't be disappointed.

I went to Bar Social last weekend and had the best time. The service is quick and bar staff were freindly and the music was the best i've heard in ages. I was really impressed on the huge menu of cocktails on offer not too pricey either and once tried they were very moreish. Easily one of the best and freindliest bars in Clapham needless to say i will be making this a regular haunt, well done Bar Social keep up the good work.

Went to car social last night, and what a place, it’s great; everyone should get their selves down there. Walked in and the atmosphere hit me straight away, such a cool place, the staff made me feel really at home and like I belonged there. They have a fantastic selections of drinks and cocktails too, had to try a few of those, and with the happy hour prices you cant go wrong. The music was really varied and they had tracks to suit most tastes. A vibrant place with good drinks, good process and the staff are really good, am going again tonight me thinks. It’s not often a female on their own feel comfortable going into a bar on your own but I really did here

Bar Social in Clapham is a great bar with an amazing cocktail list, the staff are friendly and professional and the service was pretty fast when I was there. Comfortable seats and nice décor and you can enjoy your cocktails and chat without having to scream louder then 120 decibels of noises. Definitely worth a visit.

Me and my friends ended up in Bar Social on Saturday and it turned out to be great. They were serving amazing cocktails and the staff were so friendly. Good music and a good vibe. I recommend this place for a warm up since they close at 1am.

I went to bar social the other night, was just passing and felt like a drink so went in. what a hidden treasure the place is, full of people who talk to each other, music wasn’t too loud and the place looked great, they even had cocktails on, great fun watching them micx them.

Am pleased found the place as will definitely become a regular there, especially as their happy hoir seems to be most days for most of the night, cheap drink, good time!

I have been going to this bar regularly for about four months now great range of beers and cocktails on offer and also very reasonbly priced too.

The staff I have always found to be very freindly, the decor gives it a cosy feel, the music I may add is also good and not too loud. A great place to go for a few hours or if like me u really like cocktails u will easily get hooked and not want to leave. Get on down and try this little gem is all else I can say.

It was Friday night, my flat mate &, me wanted to go out somewhere we could have a good time and get a bit ‘merry’. We had both had tough weeks at work, crunch was the right word. We looked online for local places and liked the sound of Bar Social.

So we made our way there all dressed up. What a great night, we got there and the place had a really friendly feel, and atmosphere. The staff were great, the owner even intoroduced himself. The cocktails were brilliant and we tried as many as we couold. The music was really eclectic and made a really good change from the usual cheesy pop or mainstream stuff you usually hear. It seems a great place and I am not at all surprised it was so busy, it is set out on three floors so very spacious.

We set out to have a good time & get merry and thanks to bar social & the staff there we exceeded that, go there I definitely will be a regular
