A great place in Soho, booked it for my birthday drinks and the customer service throughout was great - I don't think I got a single, "no you can't do that", though I didn't try anything too extravagant..
Cocktails are very nice, and we had some food, which was great too. One of the guest have described nachos, as "the best he's ever had".. Though my only vegetarian had to do with out, since they ran out of veggie ones.. We survived.
It was Saturday night, so it was packed - so maybe not the best if you're after a quiet glass of wine.
Music was very good too - which is fab, when you're out for a little dance..
Overall - great place, would highly recommend it!
We came across this bar by chance and so pleased we did! We booked an area for a party and the staff were really helpful in making sure everything was organised for this, and indeed the evening went smoothly. We had a lovely lady looking after us on the night and despite the bar being very busy she was attentive (without being annoyin) and everything was brought over quickly!
The cocktails were generous and delicious, the music was fun (and not so loud you couldn't hear yourself think) and there was just a great atmosphere! Thanks Barrio for a great night!
Organised a night here to celebrate some birthdays. The staff were SO helpful in helping to reserve tables, guestlist etc. Being served from the tables on the night was an added bonus that was much appreciated. I'd definitely recommend Barrio Central, whether it's for after work drinks or a more special night out. The cocktails are great and there's something for everyone music-wise!
A friendly little place, with mojitos made at double speed and excellent DJ on a Friday. Rose was very helpful with booking an area for a birthday party. I'll definitely be returning.
Looking for somewhere fun with a great atmosphere? Then Barrio Central is your place.
It was the perfect bar for a work night out. We took out the team and clients, everyone had a fantastic night. From first contact with Rose, who booked us a lovely area, to the waitress who looked after our party - Jamila did a fantastic job of keeping the drinks flowing and making sure everyone was having fun. Plus the kitchen delivered up some tasty food - it went down a treat.
A great place and a great night.
I Love Barrio Central. The staff are all very accommodating as I booked the porch area at the back for a hen do and we were a slightly rowdy bunch. The Happy Hour is the best in central London and Margarita is great.
I booked an area in Barrio Central for my birthday in January 2012. I spoke to a lady called Rose over the phone, who then emailed me confirmation of my reservation and was very efficient anytime I had another question to add about the evening (as I had never been to the venue before).
We had a great night! The staff were absolutely lovely and very fast! Which made the whole atmosphere great! As I hate over snotty bars and rude staff, which can easily happen in such a busy bar! We definitely made the most of the happy hour (3pm to 8pm!) And to top it off, my bday present I had left there on the night, was still there on Sat! I was very pleased.
I would definitely go again and so will a lot of my friends who hadn't been before! Fab venue, fab staff and fab evening. What more can I say!
We went last Friday with a booking for a large group and it was great! Awesome cocktails and nachos, and buzzing atmosphere. DJ had some great tunes. Sent us down memory lane back to Uni days and he played more recent stuff too. It gets pretty busy so it's good to book! We'll definitely be back.
I booked a table Barrio Central for my birthday last weekend, the idea being a few of us would come early for food & cocktails, and then a larger party of people would join us later. I found the staff very accommodating with adding extra room for people in the group. The drinks were fantastic, really good cocktails and a great range, and the food was great too. The dancefloor had a great atmosphere & everyone was enjoying the music. I had lots of comments from friends that they really enjoyed the night. My only criticism is that it isn't open even later - but we can't have everything! Thanks to Kim for helping me organise, I will definitely be back!
I worked on Poland St. in Soho for 6 years and this place is by FAR the best bar I have been to in the area. The cocktails are awesome and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I held my leaving party here and couldn't have been happier with the service provided for me. I have also been here as part of a Hen party before where we ate, and the food was equally as good as the cocktails and there aren't many places I've been to where that is the case.
It gets very busy, (can only be a good sign!?) so I would advise getting there in good time for a top evening!
Highly recommended.
I organised a product Launch Party for approx 120 people on a Wednesday night and everyone had a fabulous time. Kim and her team were amazing and ensured everyone was well looked after. We hired out the downstairs basement area which was a perfect space - everyone loved the venue and the welcome Mojitos on arrival! The Happy Hour was also fab as was the food that was brought out throughout the evening - it was delicious and plentiful! Barrio is a great place, great staff, great drinks, great food and great music. Thank you, we'll definitely be back at some point!
Barrio is an awesome little joint. Think Breakfast Club mixed with Ricky Martin. I went for my birthday with mates and had an amazing night! The food was south american with a British twist and the staff were really friendly. Happy hour until 8pm is great too and I think it's every night of the week! After the evening meal, head down stairs because tucked away is a cool basement bars with dancefloor, fun tunes, cocktails, and good times.
I hired an area in the basement for my birthday on the recommendation of a friend (plus the place is just round the corner from where I work)This venue is a real hidden gem of a place - i'm glad to say that I chose to celebrate at Barrio Central - cocktails were good and the atmosphere inside was really fun and non-pretentious. And staff were real friendly. All my friends enjoyed the place and I'm sure i'll be frequenting Barrio central in the near future!
Had a great night in Barrio for my birthday! Cocktails were fab although it did take a while to get to the bar. Thanks to Kim and all the staff. Will be back again!
Last night I visited this bar as part of a bar crawl that was so good we decided to stay until the lights were turned on and the DJ was packing up.
What a gem hidden away in Soho. The drinks were great and the bar staff friendly and efficient, lovely cocktails!
The music was great and kept us on the dance floor all night, the atmosphere was very chilled and not at all pretentious.
Will def be back here, such a great place!
This is the most poorly organised place I have ever had the misfortune of going to. I booked a table over a week in advance, knowing it would be busy for Christmas. I specifically said we'd be eating and the woman I spoke to was happy to book us in.
When you arrive there's no one to tell you where to go or where your table is. You have to hunt down waitresses, some of them very rude, to find your table. Only the third one I asked was willing to try and help us.
There was already a couple sitting at our tiny table and the waitress politely asked them to move because it had been reserved. They did not. She then ran around trying to find an extra chair for my third guest but with no luck. How can a bar book a table but not have enough seats?? And were a chair to materialise, it would have been sticking out in the middle of the small dance floor, where some women were learning Salsa steps. Hardly comfortable!
We waited for five minutes then told her we would just go, as she still hadn't found a chair and the couple still hadn't moved from our table. We then waited another ten minutes for her while she tried to find her manager to explain the situation. In the end we walked out to try and find somewhere else.
The waitress was as helpful as she could be, but it's ridiculous that when you book a table you have to have such a battle just to be able to sit down.
The place itself looked quite funky and the music seemed OK. It would be a good place to pop in for a drink, but they obviously aren't capable of taking planned bookings for three people?!
Such a shame, but avoid this place if you're planning on a comfortable catch up with friends with some food. It won't happen!!
Absolute hidden gem, had been recommended this place by a few friends and it really did live up to expectations! Amazing decor, amazing cocktails and amazing party atmosphere, I will def be visting you guys again, thanks for a great night, PS keep a look out for the cheap Amigo hour drinks...were we really in Central London or was I dreaming? x x Shell
Amazing drinks in a fun and relaxed environment, with dj's or bands all week long.... where else can you get this in central London??
We've started making this our after work hangout so we can take full advantage of their Amigo Hour of half price cocktails and beers for £2. Thoroughly recommend this if you are sick of the stuck up and pretentious vibe that is only too known of Soho hang outs
Love Barrio Central. Very funky & fun interior that is so much more interesting that the usual Soho rubbish. I booked the shack for my boyfriends birthday: the staff couldn't have been more attentive, yummy food, the dj played great tunes all night and the cocktails served up by knowledgeable bar staff (their £3.75 Happy Hour Mojito is definitely the best value in London) Thank you Barrio Central for a memorable night xxx
Cheap plastic-looking interior combined with music so loud (at 7pm) you have to shout to make yourself heard. One to avoid.
Absolutely awesome, 2 floors of complete FUN! The vibe was GREAT with delish cocktails that in happy hour were soooo cheap, couldn't believe I was in London. Loved the different areas/snuggs as well that you could sit in -The porch is a goody and shack. I disagree with the review about the staff, don't know what you were doing wrong but the bar staff were really friendly I thought and helpful (I've been in there a number of times). I had a few friends in that night and felt really looked after..... you must have really wound them up ;)!
I've had mates birthday's in there since and the dance floor was really buzzing without being too crowded perhaps the odd elbow but that's what good bars are all about...lots of people. Great little size place for a party 100% recommend. LOVE. Good Job!
This is one strange place. The happy hour is good, the music is great but its small, underground and looks really cheap (as if they kitted the place out in Ikea plastic furniture). However the most upsetting thing that lets this place down is the incredibly rude bar staff. When I asked for tap water at the end of the night I was told "If you cant handle it then you shouldn't drink". We were pushed and shoved by them while they were collecting empty glasses and a friend thought she had left her jacket in the bar but when we called we were told "Someone will call you back once we have had time to look", we are still waiting for the call back a week later!
If they fire all the staff and get in some friendly people then I'll reconsider my score.
Amazing place. Get yourselves there! Liv Scott
