My hen party was held here in August 2011 and what a cracking time!! Everytbody thoroughly enjoyed themselves and would go back again.
Special thanks goes to Alex who was a great sport all night.
Only suggestion I would make is to get a real oompha band in!!
The Bavarian Beerhouse is a great place to celebrate a Christmas party. My colleagues and I had our Christmas party there and we had an amazing time. We pre-ordered food from the Christmas menu and reserved a table. At arrival each person got a welcome drink and a Christmas cracker. The food was served on big platters and we tried the typical German sausages with mash potatoes and sauerkraut! We really loved the big beer glasses so called steins! Later on the waitresses were singing and dancing with us it was a great night! I will definitely come back with a few friends of mine! Pit
Not hugely impressed.
Had to pay £14.50 to get in which included an £8 'stein', but what the hell was the other £6.50 for? Apparently it was for the 'entertainment', which consisted of two guys on an accordion and guitar who sang 5 songs in total. I was expecting a proper 'oompah' band with tuba etc but instead our 'entrance fee' went on playing terrible europop at volumes which made conversing impossible.
The pils was relatively decent and the food, whilst not particularly amazing was reasonably priced and perfectly accompanied the massive beers!
Bit of a different night out but nowhere near the atmosphere I was hoping for (the crappy decor could go a long way to explaining that) Not somewhere I would bother paying to enter again.
Going to try the real Oktoberfest instead next year
I've been to the Beerhouse with a couple of mates last weekend and we really enjoyed our time being there. We loved the atmosphere, the Bavarian food and the charming service. You will find nowhere else in this city an exclusive waitress service as we had in this venue. Moreover, they brought the Oktoberfest from Munich to England and on top of that Bavarian musicians have been performing and entertaining us. I still have a hoarse voice.
Enjoyed having a pint last nite with lovely music.....Sexy waitresses...... Shame my friends couldn't make up so have to leave early......would come again...
Been there last nite.....lovely waitresses and nice ambiance....enjoyed shandy.....very friendly staff....recommended
A group of friends and I went to the Beerhouse last year in August. We were given the wrong kitchen times which resulted in costly cabs and running around trying to book an alternative at 10pm - not to mention the embarrassment.
Suffice to say we were not amused and asked for a reduction in the rediculously expensive bill handed to us.
A stand-off followed resulting in the police being called as we were rounded up like criminals.
The customer service was not good at all - a little understanding and a token £20 off the £200 bill (not to mention the additional £70 cab fare) would have gone a long way.
Relating to the food - the only food we had were a couple of snack starters - which were dire. Drinks over priced. Service poor.
All in all a very bad experience. Stay well away.
I went to the Bavarian Beerhouse last night and had a fab time! The waitresses were always smiling, despite the fact the place was rather dramatic to say the least.
The atmosphere was fantastic and I really felt invited to contribute-by the end even I ( a rather shy individual) was persuaded to sing along with the locals, 'stein' ( 1 litre glass) of beer in one hand and pretzel in the other!
The food wasn't the cheapest in london, but certainly filled me up and tasted really good. I recommend the schnitzel for something different and unique to German/ Austrian restaurants, but I also enjoyed my girlfriend's cheese noodle thing I can't remember the name of !
I expected the Bavarian Beerhouse to be somewhat of a commodity that shouldn;t be that good of a place, but am really feeling like this is the start of a beutiful relationship with the place!I have never actually been to a bar in London where English people are seen really 'letting go' and not worrying about looking trendy, hip or sexy ( that's not to say there arn't sexy people there, my girlfriend actually caught me admiring a certain waitress and her, ach-hmm, cleveage) it's simply a place for people of all nationaliities to have fun.
The beer is much better than English beer too. I ended up trying most of them on the night, and personally thought the Lowenbrau was the best ( much nicer than in cans from the corner shop!)I would not recommend the Bavarian Beerhouse on the weekend to couples over 80 who wish to attend a quiet place for a glass of wine- it's just not that kind of place, but if you're under 80 and not looking for a boring and quiet place to waste away then I can't recommend it more!
