Went last night for a last minute birthday dinner. The place was pretty quiet, mostly couples on first dates and I asked to go to a different table than the one offered. No problem, they were very accommodating. Looked high and low for the lobster as that's what I wanted, none. Was a bit sad as that's the only reason I went there but hey ho, had a very nice starter moules marinieres (quite large for 2 to share really) very nice to dip the chips into, the mussels were good, the sauce was very creamy and tasty, the chips were standard. I had the steak which was also very good and came rare (the way I had ordered it) My friend had the beef boconnade, (meatballs in gravy) it was ok, but the meat didn't taste as good as my steak, quite plain. The wine, £15.95 gets you an amazing montepuliciano, really impressive, dark, heavy and spicy, best thing by far. The waiter was a little surly, not sure if he had been working all day but he looked shattered, didn't top our wine up, not that I really expected it in Belgo. However he was ok otherwise. The place needs a spruce up, it looked a bit tired and dated, but on the whole the food is good, would I go back? Yes, definitely for a quick lunch.

Really a disaster not to mention the atmosphere , went there last friday with friends and we went off after an hour. Very unpolite, unfriendly staff and most of the mussels and fries we ordered was bad quality. So if you want to eat Belgian food go to Belgium , there is the food better. Such a pity because London has to offer better restaurants

There's another Belgo near Covent Garden, but Belgo Noord is less touristy, with a more relaxed atmosphere. Lovely moules frites, but they do other meat and fish dishes as well if you're not a crustacean fan. Belgo Noord also have some great Belgian beers to try.
