The ViewLondon Review
The free Wi-Fi is the biggest draw in the Hammersmith offering of this popular chain, judging from the laptops everywhere. The VenueIt used to be a God-awful pub called The George, but has had a revamp since being taken over by Belushis. It is related to the St Christopher’s Inn backpacking hostel, which occupies the floors above. The decor is slick - very red - with a good-sized bar and a stage area in the corner for live gigs. It's bang next to the Hammersmith tube, so within stumbling distance of several tube lines (with loads of night buses if you’re out even later).
The AtmosphereThe bar staff are friendly, young and attractive. The clientele is a weird mix of international travellers staying at the hostel and corporate suits from some of the local big businesses. Perhaps they are hoping to score with a travelling type? Everyone is out for a good time. There are several large televisions for catching important matches.
The FoodBelushis does quite a good range of food; however, their burgers are definitely the star - 8 wildly different choices for under 8 quid.
The DrinkLook out for their broad range of drink specials - they offer loads of different ways to get hammered. Cocktail hour lasts until 10pm. You get the drift. On tap your winning choices are Bombardier, London Pride or Staropramen - plus your usual pub draughts. The wine list is short and cheap.
The Last WordThere is nothing remarkable about Belushis in Hammersmith; but if you want to flirt with travellers, or are looking for decent food and drink at reasonable prices, this is a solid choice.
