Both myself and my friend enjoyed a lovely meal with good service on our visit to this restaurant. The manager was extremely welcoming, professional, attentive and ensured our time there was an enjoyable one. He was very helpful and suggested a delicious fine wine which went down a treat. The staff were friendly and smiled a lot - which is always a good sign. The food itself was tasty and I particularly enjoyed the dessert along with a good hot coffee. I would definitely visit again and suggest it to friends and family.

Amazing in its mediocrity. Arrived for an early lunch on a Sunday with Australian relations who were in London for a week - table booked in advance - to be told that there were no pizzas available, only one sea bass and no sausages. We ordered a main course and when some members of the party requested a rocket salad (on the menu) they were told there was no rocket either. Not surprisingly we all ended up having pasta as the choice had become severely limited. The lasagne was average and certainly not a large portion for the price of £12.95. We ordered desserts and coffee but the coffee came 10 minutes before the desserts. Is this some strange Italian custom? The desserts came but one was forgotten and the waitress had to be reminded while two portions of ice cream were melting in their dishes at the table. Desserts are fairly expensive at £5.50 for three small scoops of melting ice cream. This is not a cheap place to eat and only two other tables were occupied while we were there so I've no idea how they cope on a busy evening. Hardly authentic Italian, apart from the name of the restaurant and not at all impressive for the price paid.

Can't go wrong with Bertorellis - perfect Italian cuisine, every time.

What are you talking about "Italian cuisine"? This restaurant has to be one of the most unauthentic Italian experiences I have ever had the unfortunate experience of suffering.

The food is not bad food it is just the food equivalent of beige. Bland staff, bland food bland decor.

The bruschetta I had was bland tomato on some bland bruschetta bread with a sorry piece of mozzarella on the top. the pizza had plain tomato and cheese on 70% of the base and the rest of the topping had been thrown in the middle.

The spaghetti and with meatballs was OK. Finally the wine was the equivalent of a £2.50 bottle of wine...yes we did pick the house wine, but for £14.50 a bottle you would expect something that was passable.

In conclusion this sorry excuse for a restaurant is hopefully going to be one of the better business failures of the credit crunch. One can only hope!

As for the last review, I think the closest they must have been to proper Italian food is Terminal 3 at Gatwick.
