The Blue Lion hosted my birthday party on Saturday night. It's a brilliant venue - with a great mix of dancing and seating space. The food platters are delicious and I particularly recommend the well-chilled Prosecco to make your party fizz! Cheryl and her team couldn't have been more helpful in making it a great night.
I organised a surprise Ruby wedding celebration for my parents last weekend at The Blue Lion.
Cheryl was great to deal with throughout the organisation of this event, and her staff on the night were friendly and very helpful which is was most appreciated on the night.
I couldn't have asked for more and would recommend The Blue Lion to anyone wishing to have a cheeky pint after work or book a private event.
We chose the BLUE LION pub to hold our Civil Partnership reception - Camden Town Hall is very close. The pub location is very central (10 min walk from St Pancras/Kings Cross/Euston stations. It has a warm and friendly atmosphere, and we had sole use of the whole venue on the day.
The manager Cheryl was enthusiastic, friendly and approachable from the start of our enquiries, and nothing was too much trouble for her - she even sourced equipment for our DJ. The sound system was great, with the facility to turn down the volume in different sections of the pub.
Cheryl also helped us budget the (sustainable/locally sourced) food/ drink requirements, ensuring there was no wastage. There was a large selection of different drinks and the food was wide ranging - meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan options - and tasted great!
All 100 guests had a fantastic time, and the day will live long in our memories.
Thanks to Cheryl and her team
Hired Blue Lion for my 60th birthday bash recently on a Saturday.
The quality of venue, food, drink and service were wonderfully received by the 110 guests. It is welcoming but not quaint or scruffy, but not hideously over-themed or tacky like so many gastro-pubs.
It is also ideally located if you have people travelling from all points around London - and beyond.
Manager Cheryl was extremely pleasant, helpful and efficient - a pleasure to do business with.
I can't recommend it highly enough. I believe many of my friends will now think of using the place themselves.
My son and I had a joint birthday party here on a Saturday night in Sept. We booked the whole place for our party, so more than ample room for our 80+ guests, a dance floor and pool table as well. The food platters were tasty and plentiful. Great value for money!! The owners and the staff are really helpful and friendly - they made the whole evening a real success. I would definitely host another party here.
Great food, very friendly staff with a 'not a problem' attitude. Changed hands about 18 months ago, new owner a breath of fresh air. Good selection of drinks, can be busy on a Friday night, relaxed the rest of the time.
Am lucky enough to work across the road from this pub and spend alot (probably too much) time in it.
Staff are amazing and a real laugh.. you can tell the pub is good cause the staff stay for a drink there even after they finish their shift.
Food is great and a good selection of beer and real ales..and the barmaid does a WICKED snakebite
well worth a vist!!
This is truly one of the best pubs I have had the opportunity to frequest on my six month stay in the BrownLow Mews which is on the same block of the pub. I had the opportunity to frequent the pub during the time it switched ownership. The current ownership has transformed this pub to one that you are sure to enjoy. It has a very friendly staff; the owner is terrific and easy to get along with. Along with the beers, the food is also great. The atmosphere is rather very easy going and friendly all-around. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone who whish to enjoy a fine environment in Central London.
This pub changed hands recently and it's super! Out have gone the TVs and quiz machines and in a really cool decor, homemade food that is to die for (try the burger), good music and friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Very busy pub but pleasant enough - friendly staff!
