It's a so pity that we had to have an most unpleasant experience ever...My friend was feeling just a little bit drowsy, then the bouncer asked him to get the fresh air when he passed by us. My friend was totally OK, not drunk at all, but we did what the bouncer asked. He said "Get back in 10 min", but he didn't let him in again! The reason was "because he was sleeping on the table". It wasn't true at all, I still don't understand why he told such a lie. Then the manager came down, she insisted the same thing in spite of she saw nothing! She cleared off our drinks which we just bought, kicked out us. We were having good drinking with other friends too, could have a good memory of London. This is the rudest bar, I strongly remind that NEVER EVER, NOT TO GO.
WOW!
I had so much fun at this place last saturday night! The atmosphere was buzzing, the staff were upbeat, freindly and on point. The food on the menu wasn't pretentious and beautifully presented. Absolutely delicious! Would definitely visit this place again as a starter to my Saturday night out in Soho! Great place! Recommend highly!!
My friend and I walked up to the bar and really liked the atmosphere; nice cosy place, good music, nice vibe, friendly security man...until that is, we were unfortunate enough to encounter the extremely rude and unprofessional manager on the restaurant side of the bar.
With it being our first time there, we wouldn't have had any idea where the 'no standing zone was' and walked up to stand at the bar on the restaurant side. The manager approached us and asked us if he could help, and then kindly informed us that we were standing in the bar service area. We moved up closer to where people were standing around the bar only to have him come to us very rudely and say 'excuse me, drinks down there'. When we respectfully told him that we didn't appreciate the way we were spoken to, rather than apologising, he started arguing back, saying that we were standing in the restaurant area and people were only allowed there if they were having food. When we said he didn't say that in the first place, he kept on arguing. When we told him that we were saying that for his well-being he replied with a very cheeky 'Thank you very much'.
I would strongly advise the company this bar falls under to train their managers better on:
1. How to communicate clearly
2. How to speak to people with a bit more respect
Its understandable that bar managers work long hours and deal with lots of people all day but that doesn't excuse being rude and disrespectful to people coming to their bar.
We eat at BKB last night and it was the worst I have experienced in a long time. We were served by the manager who was quite rude and made as little verbal contact as possible. We had to ask twice for water which was delivered but only after he had put candles on every single table in the restaurant (it was only 6.30pm). We then had to ask for Balsamic vinegar to go with our bread and olive oil again this was delivered haughtily. We decided after the first 20 minutes that we felt so uncomfortable that we wouldn't have a main course and settled on the small snack menu. We had calamari, fries, mini burger, and nachos both of the latter were so tasteless, old shoe leather would have been preferable. in additon they also had to pop out to the local shop to buy vinegar. We promptly asked for our bill and as we were paying asked the manager why he was so miserable. His reply was he was short-staffed (there was only a handful of diners eating.
We were looking to spend circa £120 - £150 eating at BKB sadly they only got £40 maybe they don't need the custom -
Went to Boheme for a pre-theatre dinner last night. Service was excellent, food was great (we had a couple of appetisers, a couple of small dishes and a couple of side dishes) and the price was very reasonable. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because, for my tastes it was a bit loud - 'not somewhere for a romantic meal!'. The bar area looked like it was buzzing as well.
great fun busy atmosphere
I am not often in Soho , but will go there for lunch at BKB
great place for drinks in the evening
I had the "seafood stew" which was a complete joke: 4 mussels and two prawns in a starter sized bowl of watery soup and cream. A starter of chicken strips and sweet chilli was utterly pathetic. The main course took an hour and a half to come. The manager was vicious and rude when I implied that I was unimpressed. I came here to celebrate the result of my MA and left with a cloud over my evening. Foodwise I may have merely chosen badly, but the service was unacceptable. I wont be giving them the opportunity to bully and insult me again.
one star only because that's the minimum allowed. absolute worst I've been treated anywhere in any London venue. Avoid.
Boheme Kitchen and Bar is one of my favourite London restaurants; somewhere I frequent quite often and have never had a bad experience. They do great cocktails and its always buzzing and lively. The food is superb - they do the best steak and chips around, and the portions are generous. Boheme Kitchen and Bar is defintely recommended.
The Boheme Bar and Kitchen is a nice enough venue but I really don't see what all the fuss is about. It's quite expensive for what it is and it's in Soho, which is so desperately out of fashion now.
I would only really go to Boheme Bar if my friends want to go there - but to be honest, I'm bored with it now.
The Boheme Bar does some really tasty food, but the service in there leaves a lot to be desired. It was fairly empty when we went too.
Don't think we'll be going back to The Boheme Bar any time soon.
