The ViewLondon Review
Brondes Ages is the first port of call for travellers - weary or not - based as it is directly opposite its namesake, Brondesbury station. The VenueWelcoming from the offset, the large outdoor seating area of Brondes Ages encompasses the entire width of the venue and the sheltered area houses a collection of bespoke rustic furniture.
Inside, the charming hippy vibe is carried through with deep reds and brightly painted wooden features complimenting the exposed brick walls, whilst a selection of large modern prints, unique light fittings, and fairy and rope lights help to add a modern carefree touch to the venue. The furnishing reflects the exterior with rustic wooden tables and chairs accompanied by large comfortable leather sofas. A collection of comfortable leather stools align the lime green bar, which draws your attention as soon as you enter the otherwise dark venue. Aside from the main room, there are two smaller rooms attached offering a more secluded and intimate vibe ideal for couples or large groups wishing to take over a corner of the pub for themselves.
The AtmosphereRarely empty, the sheltered outdoor seating of Brondes Ages attracts a mixed clientele of young hippy locals, all day regulars and shoppers, offering an ideal location to watch the world as it busily goes by. The venue offers a serene vibe from the madness that is Kilburn High Road and the relaxed and convivial vibe attracts customers all day busying later on as the after work crowds gather into the night.
The FoodThe Mediterranean-style menu offers a varied selection of options to choose from. The delicious, well-priced burgers are served on foccacia bread with the option of tasty additional toppings such as chorizo and ham relish and portobello mushrooms with pesto. The ample Brondes platter comes in two sizes providing an eclectic selection of favourite snacks infusing the many different flavours of the world to offer the ultimate taste experience. And, of course, the full English breakfast offers the perfect pick me up for the morning after the night before.
The DrinkWith pitchers, shooters and cocktails galore, Brondes Ages keeps up with the city vibe and carries the Mediterranean feel through to its drinks menu, too. Prices are very reasonable with cocktails ranging from £5-£6. The well-chosen wine menu is also nicely priced with bottles starting at £12 with a good Champagne selection for that extra special treat. The bar is well stocked with all of the usual spirits and the beers on tap are Grolsh and Stella.
The Last WordCatering for a relaxed and laid back clientele, Brondes Ages provides a ethnic vibe complimented by modern bohemian twists.
