Below average food and fairly high prices. Service, decor and atmosphere are all good though.

I visited browns last week with 3 other ladies before a show and found the waiters Stefanie and Mikie were very polite when waiting on us and as this was our first visit stefanie told us the history of the building and who it belongs to now. she was very proud of having the privilege to be working there, the food was exquisite and hot which was a delight. After our meal Stefanie gave us a guided tour of the court rooms up stairs. she was very informative of the history. We had a most delightful time which ended a great meal. I have recommended to all our friends that they visit browns for a great meal well cooked and presented beautifully.

Browns is one of my favourite restaurants. It looks & feels expensive but the food is very reasonably priced (£8-£10 for a main course). The staff are pleasant & helpful & they always have interesting vegetarian courses.

Arriving at 7.45pm on a very wet Friday night, we knew it was going to be a bit rough. Very crowded but still they were able to offer us a table "right away" or in "half an hour". We opted for the latter and were able to get to the bar, order up and were nearing the end of our drinks when our table number flashed up. We were seated, and orders taken promptly and with a friendly welcome. The starters arrived quickly as did the wine, jug of water etc. The main courses were a bit longer but allowing for the crowds we were very impressed with the speed and overal quality etc of the main courses. Only one of the party had room for a pudding and it arrived (plus 2 extra spoons for some of us to try) quickly. The cost was considered by all to be very reasonable for central London and the food and service good especially as Browns were under a lot of pressure on the night.
A good value for money experience.

A group of friends came to London for a long weekend and visited Browns for our evening meal. As it was very busy we had to wait for our table but it was definitely worth it. The food was al a carte and the waiters/waitresses were very pleasant although they were very busy. It was not expensive for the 3 courses we had. We liked it so much we went back next morning for breakfast. (This you must try.) We are back in Sept so we will be going to Browns again.
