Private members only??? I was harrassed into the place by one of their aggressive street promoters. It was my bday and I kept saying that I already planned to go to another place but my friends kept following this scumbag money grubbing promoter. I tried asking questions about the place but he just brushed me off and spoke to me like I was an idiot. I said it was too far and not my kind of music. Eventually I gave in under pressure and said I'd take a quick look inside. It was dead, claustraphobic and the music was screeching in my ears. I walked out without trying to be offensive or rude and even insulted myself in jest by saying that I was sorry but I was too old for such loud music. Their promoter then started swearing at me, told me I was a peasant and told me to f... off. I asked him why he was being so rude as I was trying to be nice and I pointed out the fact that he had approached me. I'm a 5'4 tiny blonde woman and no one else was around, so he probably thought he could bully me and I'd say nothing but I'm a bouncer and I don't take that kind of abuse from anyone. He told me to f... off again, so I told him not to talk to me like that but he continued. It nearly ended in a big brawl. He even later approaced one of my guy friends after we had walked off and kissed him on the cheek to provoke him. The Doorman simply wasn't bothered at all. Maybe he was used to the twurp. I later saw him harrassing other people and he kept trying to provoke us. That white trash ruined our night.
Nice, but this place was deserted! Maybe 15 people when I walked in at around 12. By 1AM, there were only about 5 people left.
The music was loud, but I could almost imagine sage brush blowing threw the empty dance floor. Manager is a really nice guy though.
Beautiful bar, with welcoming and very friendly professional staff.
It's not often that you feel so special as soon as you walk in the door of a venue.
Had a great night and would definitely come again.
Was invited in to the club (by someone manning the door) after falling out the back end of Bar Red at closing time..
.. we found ourselves (mixed party of 6) sharing the entire venue with just 2 other patrons for the rest of the night.
Effect of the credit crunch? Certainly didn't require a swipe card or a guest list to get in - they must really be feeling the credit crunch pinch?
That said the place is gorgeous with courteous staff and a well stocked bar.
DJ playing good chilled out house. Even though I only plumped for Asahi, the glass was a pleasant thickness, chilled and made the simple beer a pleasure to consume.
Will definitely return - without my personal membership swipe card of course.
What a beautiful boutique and decadent venue. Fantastic cocktails and a wonderful atmosphere.
In this day and age where bars are becoming cash cows and goign drastically down hill, i found the crowd sophisticated and refreshing.
Would definately go there again.
An impecable venue, with extremely friendly staff, and a great list of cocktails!
Im really looking forward to the launch of their live music night called The MB Underground on Monday 30th March, its should be really good as the host is Patrick Alan and John Altman who pioneered the Ten Rooms!!
