I recently went to Camden Rock for one of Phoenix Music gig nights & I have to say it was awesome!
Everyone there was really friendly and entry was only £5 with some great metal bands playing, I would definitely go back again.
Great night guys!
I saw the singing pictures back at the enterprise and that was ace! I hope its going to be a ace and not a crap venue..
The worst place in Camden i've been to. They don't do pints just bottles and cans of beer at a ridiculous high price. The bar staff is so unfriendly and they seem to be doing you a favour when they are serving you drinks.
The beer is not cold enough.
And yes its true they charge £5 to bands for hiring the drum kit which is far from great.
Highly disappointing venue .
I went to Camden Rock two days ago. The barmaid was the unfriendliest barmaid in the entire world. No, really. 5 other people i spoke to said the same. Everytime you asked for a drink she scowled and said nothing as if she didn't work there. There was no variation on this. Aside from that, the drinks are overpriced bottles, the vibe and look is distinctly dingy, the sound isn't bad but they make bands pay to use a shoddy drumkit. Overall verdict...terrible place
I have been a few times, I went to a night called Vengence last month and it was awesome. Really cheap drinks especially for Camden and the security guard was really nice. They have also put in new toilets and that are much nicer.
Horrible horrible place - unfriendly atmosphere - stay well away if you want a good night in Camden - overpriced drinks - nothing on draught, staff and especially the Manager had terrible attitude towards customers and my mates band - go to the Barfly - again comes at a price - but at least there are decent numbers of people there, good music and good overall atmosphere. I don't rate Camden Rock's survival chances! Another souless venue in London bites the dust - good riddance!
Average venue, considering it is a minicab hire office. The staff were mostly unfriendly, the manager was rude and aggressive. The venue didn't provide any amplifiers for the bands, I even spoke to one of the drummers and he had to pay £5 to use the drum kit, which was missing toms, and had no cymbal stands. The mixing desk was kept in a cupboard, so it was impossible for the sound engineers to do a good mix. No beer served on tap, all you could get was a disgusting 440ml can of lager for £3.50. When we went to the shop to purchase some cheaper alcohol, the manager had a go at us, despite the fact we didn't drink it inside the venue or even next to it. He asked us how he was supposed to make money if we weren't buying his drinks - obvious answer being - don't provide a terrible service at a ridiculous rate. The smoking area was in what appeared to be a loading area for a super market, although it was probably where they kept their cabs when they weren't needed. The gents had no cubicles, they had swinging saloon-style doors which opened up into the area where everyone was watching the bands. There was no soap, one very small basin and the hand-dryer wasn't working.
Thank you Camden Rock for a terrible evening.
Ive never really partied in Camden before but joined a few friends at Camden rock. An assortment of rnb n funky house was playing on the Saturday night i went. Cheap drinks 2.50 for a bottle of carlsberg, nice crowd. Overall i though it was a nice place would definitely consider going again and loved the music played by the DJ!
