Went there last night with some friends who are beef farmers. They said that the steak was the best they've ever had. I had their burger which was superb. You have to try their gravy. Service very good and even the bill was reasonable. Great place to go and only 5 minute walk from Kings Cross.

Went there Friday 22nd Oct at 12am midnight the place was absolutely empty 20 people tops with 5 of them women and the rest men. The place can hold over 300 people.
The staff were standing around just talking amongst themselves most of the night even-though there were customers waiting to be served.
The owner is very rude and aggressive towards the customers an absolute disgrace.
The food is, well lets just say OK but someone in that kitchen seems to have a hair loss issue and that may be the owner.
Overall the place was dull boring and not very good at all highly overpriced compared to the quality of the service and product.
Avoid like the plague as it will be a ruined night and if your trying to impress someone, i assure you they will not be asking you to come in for a coffee/tea.

I love Canal 125! It's easily my favourite bar in Kings Cross and the food's great too. I've been working on and of in Kings Cross for some time now and Canal 125 is big and spacious, the bar staff are friendly and the people who drink their are friendly too. There's a cool terrace overlooking the canal and they often have free bbqs! They also make a mean Mojito. The music is varied but that's kind of cool too as it always feels different when we go there.

Ive been there a couple of times - the owners are incredibly rude - however, the bar staff are smiley and friendly.

Not a convenient location...Food is good, though, and saves the place...(3 stars)

Went there Friday 10 October about 8pm. Atmosphere is lively trendy bar, but without being crowded. No problem getting table, service attentive. I had squid for starters, which was a revelation. Then I had steak and chips, but seriously, it was the best steak and chips I have ever had in my life. First of all they'd got really good beef. And then it had been cooked to perfection, as were the chips. Very nice dry Riesling to go with that. All in all a faultless experience. Definitely my no 1 choice for eating in the Kings Cross area.

we visited canal 125 on a sunday afternoon for a catch up meal with a friend. Having read good reviews we thought we would check it out for ourselves. A little out of the way (10 min walk from the Kings Cross station) we thought the canal 125 was a really good find for what it is. The decor is somewhat interesting but it has a nice relaxed and private atmosphere, where you can sit chat and eat without feeling 'overlooked' by the table next to you.

The menu was standard, good seletion of roasts. However we all thought the food was fab, really great value for money, huge portions, fresh homemade ingredients and well executed dishes. My friend had beef roast which was the largest roast i have ever seen, my boyfriend had trout with potato salad a cucumber spagetti and dressing whilst i had a lovely chicken supreme. It was a Large main meal lunch was around 10-12 pounds per head, but as i said very generous portions.Furthermore, as i am unable to wheat and gluten and the chef at canal 125 was very flexible by making me a dish that was not on the menu that i was able to eat. This rarely happens and i was very impressed with how accomodating they were.i would certainly recommend the food here and go back. Its not fine dining but its great for a good honest lunch.

Only gripe was the service of the waitress - not bad but nothing to write home about, the gripe came when they put a standard 12 .5% service charge on the bill. I really like to give a tip when the service is good but when you have to order everything at the bar and service consists of clearing your glasses and collecting your plates i really have an issue with this. I didnt mind given the qulaity of the food and the professionalism of the chef when dealing with my requirements which are not easy! However this in no way is a complaint, and i would recommend anyone to give this place a go if you are in north london and want a good bite to eat.

The decor at Canal 125 is interesting, but the food is even more interesting! I had the Bang Bang which was great! I would recommend a visit to Canal 125 for the adventurous types.

Had a great time at Canal 125 with friends a few weeks ago. It was nice and affordable and the food was really tasty.

There's a great bar at Canal 125 too, so you can carry on your evening there. Brilliant.
