I had my first legal pint in this pub and now it's turned poncy with all the wannabe fashionistas and indie band rejects who line the place. I grew up on the other side of London Fields and the people that frequent the pub now wouldn't have been caught dead round there 10 years ago because the area wasn't considered "trendy"

Went to Cat & Mutton with my sister for a meal and was completely disappointed. It was my second visit for food, the first was moderately better. I had a tomato soup which tasted like a can of chopped tomatos with a bit of garlic and mixed herbs added.

This time at Cat & Mutton I had slow roasted belly of pork which sounded delicious. However it was tough and fatty. The worst thing about it was the price over £30 including a service charge although I'm not sure what that was for as we walked to the bar to order and pay. Go to The Dove instead.

I love the atmosphere at the Cat & Mutton. The staff are great and our group had a very good time there. My friend is very fussy about his beer and he was well impressed by the selection.

The only thing that puts me off coming to the Cat & Mutton again is that I don't like Hackney - I think it's a bit skanky.

The Cat & Mutton staff are very nice. They were really friendly and gave us loads of advice when we couldn't decide what to eat. I had the steak in the end, and it was really good. I will definitely be back at the Cat & Mutton.
