went on the 21st dec for lunch........Shite.
Having been a couple of times over the past 4 years, this place has gone downhill.
The bar staff are probably from Hungary or Poland and probably never heared about the USA comedy classic.
In the past they sold "Pitchers" of Bud or Coors. This is no longer the case.
It doesnt even sell American beers, but Becks or Stella only
Service is slow and i sent my desert back twice as it was'nt as described on the Menu.

If you want an American feel about your food,AVOID.
Go to Eds Diner just of Leics Sq instead.

At 10pm the bar staff were telling us they were all out of pints. So you have to buy bottles, which obviously cost more in the long run. On entering we were told by one member of staff that it cost five pounds to enter and 10 pounds by another. I bought a double barcadi and coke and two tiger beers for 14 quid, which I consider quite expensive, and I do believe the barman gave me a single instead of a double, and charged me for a double, but who am I to know, I'm not a barman. Music I rate 6-7 out of 10, but I guess you all have to go and see for yourself.

Cheesey fun, good if there's a group of you. The floor can be a bit of a death trap with drinks going all over the place but still a cool venue.

Cheers is definitely a place I will be visiting again... I ended up going there on a Monday during a long weekend and had a great time. Wasn't looking to 'party hard' but just sit around and have drinks. The bar staff were WONDERFUL, had a great time chatting with them and the drinks they made were fantastic. I would recommend going here if you just feel like kicking back, in a pretty active enviroment with a group of friends for some drinks and socializing!

This place is cheesy, but is very fun! Awesome DJ's everynight, they show all major football matches, and they serve a decent cheeseburger!

Note to that reviewer before: how can you compare going to Cheers to going to Chinawhite? Youre a bit dim arnt you?

Cheers is ALWAYS jammed packed! Whether its drinks after work, football in the evening, or when it turns into a club after 10 everynight. YES its CHEESY! YES its American! But its all good fun. A bottle of Bud is around £3 and a gin & tonic around £3.30, which isnt bad for the west end. If that person before wants Chinawhites or any other private members club - hello? Dont come to Cheers!!? Cheers is an American style pub with a rocking atmosphere and decent cheeseburgers! lol

Im sorry but this place is a dump! I went once and i will not be returning. The wooden floor and the potent smell of sick, topped of with a large entry fee and expensive drinks makes this place such a dissapointment! Its full of old guys, and my friend had his drink spiked when we were there, he was alright but it kind of ruined his night! As its next door to paper and above china white, you would've thought they could have made this place bearable!

I went to Cheers bar last Saturday to celebrate my Hen Night and can honestly say that it was the worse night out I have ever had!

We reserved a table for 15 people but on arrival we were guided to something resembling a desk and two chairs. To make matters worse this table was in front of a large TV screen on the opening day of the football season.

We asked for more chairs but were told there were none as the customers had taken them all. We requested to be moved but the staff seemed to have found that amusing.

The worst thing was that when we complained about the substandard service to the manager it soon became apparent that we were dealing with the rudest and most incompetent people we had ever come across. Never again!

Me and two girlfriends went to Cheers on a Thursday night. Cheers is an okay club. The music is good but the DJ needs to keep up-to-date music, as we requested NYC Beats and he didn't have it. The people are ok, but it attracts a more age 20+ age group. The dancefloor is small, though the bar is nice and the toilets are clean. We were reluctant to go there but it turned out better than we thought and we had such a laugh.

Hey, I have been to Cheers three times now and I can still recommend it. The music is quite good, the bar staff is very nice, the drinks are good, but look out for the men who look like gigolos, trying to dance very close to the girls! And get you a free entry ticket from Piccadilly Circus.

I agree with the reviewer who says the venue is spoilt by the attitude of the doormen. But I have to also add that you are not safe once you are in. After I paid £10.00 and bought a round for my friends I was taken by a bouncer and thrown out of the place. My new shirt ripped by people who are supposed to care about customer's security.

I was only in there for 40 minutes and the bouncer did not reply to any of my queries asking what I might have done wrong. I have never caused any troubles and I was not even drunk.

I was in dismay by the treatment I received. It is an experience I wouldn't recommend. Me and my friends will never come back to Cheers.

Cheer is a nice place to stay. They have nice girls and nicer music. The prices aren't that bad for London. This place is visited by foreigners and mostly Americans.
The only turndown might be the annoying presence of some wannabe gigolo on the dancefloor. They just try to hit on any girl and they do so without any style. Apart that Cheers looks pretty much safe and surely deserves more than one visit.

Cheers is a fantastic night out, and so unpretentious. I went with friends for a leaving party and had so much fun! Cheers has fun music, and a great party atmosphere! Next time I'm in the UK I will come back for sure!

I and a couple of my friends went to Cheers. The music was great and we danced all the way from the door to the bar. There were a lot of fine looking guys there, but we found the staff more interesting. We visited Cheers all of the five nights we were here and it was worth it.

Went to Cheers for my birthday last year and had a great time there, some nice looking men and more of a relaxed atmosphere compared to some London bars and clubs. Returned again the next time I was in London and had a good time too.

Cheers plays up to date music which is very easy to dance to. I'm going back to London for my birthday this year too and will be returning to Cheers to start the evening off.

Cheers is just another half baked bit of fodder for London's tourists. Hard Rock carfe? Check. Trafalgar Sq, Check. Buck Palace, Check. Dull as dishwater cheers bar, check. Cheers? Check. Thanks for coming, until next time.

Patrons beware!!! I had, until recently, been to Cheers quite a few times, but the attitude of the door staff has turned me and my friends off the place. Apparently now a night spot for whoever are best friends with the doormen, it was very disappointing when I tried to take some friends there from overseas last weekend. Hoping to cap off a great day in London, it was tarnished by the attitude of the door staff.
Otherwise if you do manage to sneak inside, the bar staff are very friendly, and the music is good, albeit the crowd is largely touristy.

As a diehard regular of the Cheers bar I cannot understand the comments that critisise this gem of a venue. It is unpretentious, has great doorman (especially Tony) and superb bar staff. They remember you and serve you upon you walking through the door. The atmosphere is second to none and the music awesome. I just pray the place never shuts.

I have to say, as a once die-hard fan of Cheers, I have come home after eight months away to a less than average venue.

My girlfriends and I decided to revisit our old stomping ground after some time away from London and were disappointed to see how run-down the establishment has become. Even more distressing was to see how unhappy the bar staff looked these days. Last year you could always count on a bright smile and awesome service, and last week, my girlfriends and I were lucky to get served at all.

Thankfully, the head doorman is still the same cheeky fun he always was. And the really tall cute swedish bar tender is still there with his fab smile! The music is still fun and bright and very easy to dance the night away too.

I don't know what's happened to Cheers in the last few months, but I hope that it returns to its former brilliance soon.

Myself and some friends wandered into Cheers, simply looking for a drink and a dance. Whereas the music is middle of the road, non-intimidating, good for a giggle, the venue itself is dark and dismal. I don't want to imagine what they are trying to hide by providing little to no lighting - I was lucky to return to the correct table. The dance floor is small and enclosed; a perfect hunting ground for trapping the unsuspecting. I was unimpressed by this place and I will not be returning. A place for youngsters who can hide their obvious underage status in this worst-lit of venues.

I have recently been reading a review by your Josh De Haan for Cheers bar in London. To be honest, I'm not too impressed with the review that Cheers received.

I had a fantastic time in the bar, and to be honest, if you are going to a place called 'Cheers' you should know what to expect. Quite frankly, I am appalled by the review and believe it to be the finest drinking establishment in town. At the end of the day, as a Londoner, "You want to go where everybody knows your name"!!!
