The place has currently been closed by the police pending a licensing review because of yet another violent incident. This time the stabbing of a youth in the club and a fatal shooting outside. Best avoided!

I went to Clerkenwell House last Thursday for their Way Back weekly event with 70's -90's music with couple of friends. We had an amazing evening. Dj played good music that definitely took us back to these days. We were amazed with their cocktail list, it's got a lot of variety. We tried few (can't remember the names thought, one one purple and fruity) and they were absolutely delicious. Members of staff were friendly and looked like they know what they're doing.
We are planing to come back again for a dinner and cocktails.

I want to say thanks for making our Wedding Party an absolutely perfect evening.
The service, food and venue are faultless! (The money that I put behind the bar even lasted longer than we had expected!) We had over 175 people (including children) and so many people have been telling us what a treat time they had!
Dan the manager is a star - so helpful from the first contact right up to clearing up at 2.30am.
Thinking about booking our family Christmas party with you now.
Thanks again
Ade

I went to the Burlesque night Corset and Diamonds and it was superb. The vibe was amazing and everyone was donning a vintage costume. The performers did fantastic shows. Cocktails too a bit to be served but I guess it is the nature of the perfect cocktail to be prepared with care and skill!? Overall I had a great evening.

Arrogant doormen and a dull vibe.

Beware booking this bar for an event - check your bill at the end of the night to make sure you have received what you are charged for and if you have paid a deposit make sure this is refunded... amazing how the 'friendliness' of the staff disappears when you remind them you need a refund! Really not recommended.

Decor is fun but perhaps the worst chicken burger ever. They didn't bother to trim gristle off the chicken and it tasted of barbecue fuel. Ugh. Smiley bar staff but took a long time to place an order.

Had my 30th birthday party at Clerkenwell House and had a great evening. Nice venue, good friendly service and helpful staff and security were also polite and friendly. Prices were decent considering location and the cocktails were very good. I would definitely have another party there and would recommend it to anyone. MA

Hi Mrgallis,

I'm planning a Birthday there too and just wanted to know which floor you had and did you have the canopes and were they any good? Regarding some of the problems the other users had, did you face problems with you bill?

Thanks in advance!

Clerkenwell House is amazing! I don't know why people don't come to Clerkenwell House more often! We went to a fantastic new club night called Las Morenas presents Caliente on Saturday 31 July and it was so tropical! The atmosphere was warm, the vibe was sexy and the music was a combination of Urban Latin, Afro Latin House, Bachata, Salsa, Merengue as well as R&b and hip hop classics. Security were on point and so friendly and the bar staff made the most amazing cocktail (make sure you try the las morenas cocktail. It is out of this world!)i was so happy to win Jason Derulo concert tickets at Clerkenwell House night - apparently it was because I was the most caliente dressed! They gave out Hawaiian leis, mixtapes and Caliente branded cupcakes and biscuits. I will definitely be there at the next one, which I believe is on the Saturday 28th August and it's called Locura de Carnaval - in time for the carnival season. Looking forward to it! You all should come too! You will feel like you're not actually in London but somewhere in paradise!

We went last Saturday night for a gay Latino club that inaugurated that evening.

As this was the first opening night the organisation was very bad. They could at least offer a free drink or something. It was really awful.

The sound was very poor and you could hardly listen to the music. The lighting was also of terrible quality. You expect to see disco lighting but instead it was like being in a pub.

There was no cloak room and we were told to leave the jackets on the sofas! the worst thing of all was the VERY RUDE security at the door. He was really rude.

One expect to go out and have a good time and not to be shouted by these full of themselves security who treat everyone as criminal.

They should not be given a job like that and they should be more courteous with the clientele. I will never put my foot in that place again!

Hi Lobo,
I am terribly sorry for your evening wasn't what you have expected. The night you have attended was organized and controlled by a promoter so it was not a usual Clerkenwell House Night.I will pass your complaint on to the promoter.
clerkenwell House is a late bar and not a club that's why we do not have disco lights and cloakroom.
I am terribly sorry on behalf of security personnel who shouted at you.As I mentioned it was a one off promoter night.
Thanks a lot.

We went here on a busy thursday night and were very impressed. i remember the old clerkenwell house before the refurb, and although it now looks totally different the vibe is still the same. cool, chilled out venue which now has a very unique style. would also recommend the restaurant. you dont really notice that its there but worth exploring upstairs for a very nice and intimate meal. Only small problem with the bar is the lack of seating... plus when we got there most of the seating was already booked and remained empty for quite a while.... we'll just have to book ourselves next time!

We had a meal in Clerkenwell House the other day and it was lovely, the menu was quite small but apparently it changes very regularly so going back would be interesting. The best thing about Clerkenwell House was definitely the wine list, it really was dazzling!

The decor at Clerkenwell House is pretty funky. The food is always good an the ambience excellent. The crowd on weekends can be a bit pretentious so if you're like me just go during the week. Clerkenwell House is a great bar.
