The staff were attentive but not overbearing and seemed to know just when to appear. A good choice of starters to chose from. The bread and olives at £3.50 were uninteresting but well presented (the olive oil was not the best). The atmosphere is good with tasteful natural tone decorations and a well stocked bar. Dining al fresco on the fore rib of beef cooked in dripping (for two at £37) with chips and watercress was to die for. Loved the way it was served on old fashioned serving plate with granny's carving set! Was spolied for choice on the exciting selection of mains on offer here, Muswell Hill has being crying out for a gastro pub of this ilk (so now I wont have to travel to the Bull in Highgate for a quality feed) and the Clissold Arms seem to have hit the nail on the head for producing good food in unstuffy atmosphere. What a relief to find the reserved table did not have a time slot on it and we were eating against the clock but I wonder if this may change as the Clissold Arms becomes a victim of its own success. A good wine list with wines for all pockets and some lovely deserts but seemed to be an alcohol theme running through all the puds. 10 weeks after opening they seem to have ironed any "kinks out" (excuse the poor pun) and be operating seamlessly. Dinner for two with Bread/Olives, Starters, Mains & coffee, bottle Rioja (Yum) inc service @ 12.5% was £91.50. Shall be returning for a Sunday roast but recommended to book a table by staff. Garf

I'm so pleased that this place has come to my neck of the woods. I had a great meal - can't wait to go back!
