Cocoon is beautiful, food was great, you get what you pay for fantatic dishes. Loved the petals in the tables, so romantic. Our service was lovely, seen a few comments below regarding service, it is a shame as our evening and service was really good. Have to save up a bit but will be there again as soon as we can.
Tasty food, but service disgusting! Never normally write a review on these things but felt compelled after last night. The staff were very insulting and intimidating when I asked for the £35 set menu as advertised on top table. Had two waiters and a maitre 'd at the table treating me like a naughty school girl and was told that I couldn't have set menu because I hadn't informed them of the offer when I booked, which I did. Did the very British thing of staying and ordering anyway and felt totally humiliated in front of my friend! In the end the food was good and normally would have stayed to enjoy the atmosphere and a few drinks at the bar but would rather spend my money elsewhere , so I did! We pointed out tha t service was optional to our "friendly" waiter when the bill arrived, needless to say, he didn't see a penny!
gorgeous place.went there with a girlfriend and had an amazing time, delicious food, very friendly doorman, good service.loved it
Visited in May 2010 after being impressed with what we had seen and read on the internet. Fabulous setting and a great location. Nice greeting when we arrived and a couple of cold drinks whilst we waited for our table. Unfortunately, that was as good as it got. Service was poor. We had to keep asking for our wine glasses to be topped up and we even had someone else's meal delivered to our table! The curry was lukewarm in temperature and contained very little spice or chilli. The dim sums were also lukewarm - it was as though the food had been sitting on a table somewhere rather then being served hot and fresh. We were really disappointed with the experience. The place was very full of people and we just felt that quality was obviously being compromised. Never mind! Plenty more places to eat in London!
Wow! Went there for my birthday and could not have had a better evening! Great food and drinks! Looks like something out of a movie!
I went to Cocoon last week with a girl friend. The food was great, I had the Wasabi rubbed lamb rump and my friend the Sizzling sambal prawns which were both delicious. Service was excellent. We also stayed for drinks in the late lounge where there was a great atmosphere and fantastic cocktails.
very fun place, especially if youre looking to drink the night away with friends. the bar is not that large and the crowd is quite random but you can still have fun.
I visited Cocoon a couple of months ago and really enjoyed myself so decided to go back a few nights ago. I enjoyed it the second time around even more! The food was outstanding and the long list of cocktails went down a treat. I will be returning soon!
As Cocoon is predominantly orientated around food service their quality of drinks and cocktails really impressed me! A lengthy and exiting list to choose from; this combined with the experienced staff and delicious food has made me want to tell all my friends and return for more of those cocktails.
I was really impressed with this place. Wonderful food. polite and (not too) attentive staff and a really lovely surrounding. I really recommend it.
I went here last week for an early dinner. My guest was 20 minutes late but the waiting staff made me feel incredibly at ease and welcome.
The pre-theatre bento box was exceptional value (even including a glass of wine) for just £20 and the Pan-Asian food was amazing.
All in all, I had a great evening - cocktails at the bar are gorgeous and the decor is very stylish (I love the rose petals in the clear tables!). Would definitely recommend the venue for a good dinner in beautiful surroundings.
I visited Cocoon for the first time in a couple of years and had a fantastic evening. The atmosphere was vibrant and fun, exactly the sort of thing one looks for in a West End restaurant. The sushi and sashimi was of a very high standard and the Chilean Sea Bass was also a highlight. Overall I would recommend it as an excellent Asian-fusion restaurant.
I was invited to Cocoon last week and it was fantastic. I know that many people enjoy writing negative things about restaurants but I think it's also important to write the positive reports too. Cocoon is an extremely good pan-asian restaurant. We had an enormous selection of food to try as we were a large group. We had all sorts of sushi and sashimi dishes and it was all of an extremely high standard. I thoroughly believe in 'only the best' when it comes to raw fish, and that it was. The Rock Shrimp Tempura was so delicious it gave Nobu a run for its money. Other highlights were the Chilean Sea Bass and the Chicken Curry. I will definitely be going back.
Cocoon is fantastic - when you walk it its amazing decor - lovely staff couldn't do enough for you and the food is divine - absolutley loved it here - felt great just being in here - will definitley go back there - my friends loved it also.
I went to Cocoon and was amazed by the quality of the food. Try the ebi sushi roll, beef gyoza and the chilean sea bass. The place was crowded, it did take us some time to get our cocktails but after trying the nobara cocktail we understood why! Cocoon is a must go place!
Unfortunately Cocoon is the three P's, pretentious, pompous and pricey. Having arrived with half of my party we decided to wait at the bar. The moment I walked in the Maitre'd looked at me, said You're late, and stomped off. Not the best way to treat a paying customer, who was actually on time.
he food itself was nice, but small and expensive. The waiting staff were dismissive and treated us as though we were lucky to be there. At the end of a meal, we disputed the very hefty automatic service charge, at which the manager came over and insulted us yet again. I will never take friends or my business associates here again. Avoid Cocoon like the plague.
Being a bit worried about coming here with my mates when visiting London I was pleasantly amazed how the restaurant looked. The food was on the higher end of our budget but this was justified by how well the Cocoon looked.
I have been to many restaurants and and the decor has let them down. The food was excellent and I will not hesitate to recommend this restaurant. Cocoon is a must place if you want to impress someone.
Been to Cocoon three times just for drinks. The decor oozes sophistication although the atmosphere remains vibrant and vocal. The bar is always busy so book a table if possible. The drinks at Cocoon are expensive but not unreasonable for the type of establishment and location.
The choice of wines at the bar is not great but the cocktails are good. Staff are welcoming and accomodating. Make sure you go smartly dressed, the crowd is funky and very careful with appearance.
