Now there's some great bars on Tooley street but my favorite bar is the Cooperage, great atmosphere, decor, fast, friendly service. Staff that smile!! And Asahi on draught, what more could you ask for?

I had my going away party drinks at the cooperage, It was a wonderful experience. The staff were fantastic, there was an incredibly high level of service and the food was even better !
The staff seemed like they were having a great time behind the bar and on the floor and helped us out with every thing we needed for quite a large group of people. The night ran smoothly, will be back for the next function or lunch !

Went last night, it was busy with pre-Xmas festivites but a reasonable atmostphere. My quibbles were that the bar staff were not particularly adept at English - we ordered some chips, but the guy - as friendly as he was, had no idea what either of us were saying when we asked if they had onion rings. We gave up. The chips came to over £5 for a plate! They were just chips. My wife joined us later and I bought her an orange juice, it cost £4.55!

Not bad if you've just got your city bonus, but there are plenty of other decent pubs in the area. I wont bother to go back.

Cooperage is definitely a very nice place for British luncheons in Southwark. Interesting decor, good food, and service with a smile!
