I have to say, this is a great place, the food is great, and amazing value, sunday roast at 9.95 in my book is top notch, i do have lunch frequently now as it is next to our office, and the lunch menu is quick and great quality food. There is no doubt they had teething problems when the opened last year, but i can say they are well and truly fixed. My company used the dining room for a 50 sit down dinner last month and cocktails, its was very good and the service friendly and efficient. Well done Crescent House . ps love the music friday and sat evening , very cool

Living in Notting Hill, I frequent most new restaurants - allowing a month or two's grace for the venue to sort out teething problems.
Crescent House still has many issues to resolve if they hope to survive in this market.

The site has a gastro-pub on the ground floor with a more formal restaurant above. We booked on a Friday evening when most establishments in the area are electric with atmosphere. The pub was sparsely populated and the restaurant was empty save for a deuce. I requested, of the manager, that we be served the upstairs menu in the downstairs pub - clearly far from bustling for a Friday night. The manager refused to accommodate this request, without providing any reason while stressing that the restaurant would soon be full.

Unsurprisingly, we dined in a well decorated but completely deserted room. No points for atmosphere or accommodating service. The starters (scallops and artichoke) were acceptable though unremarkable. The beef was the highlight, both generous and of good quality. However, the duck and accompaniments arrived luke warm. The kitchen then reheated that very serving returning it to our table overcooked. The error in the initial presentation and the amateurish attempt at correction married to the deserted room had us wishing we’d gone anywhere else!

With one bottle of wine the bill came to a whopping £140 - very steep for mediocre food in a venue void of style. The experience was a let down, poor service and inconsistent food at too high a price – the moon over this crescent house has waned.
