Horrific
Went here for a meal with my family and have never been so disgusted.
Two meals were burnt. One was dressed on soggy brown lettuce. Food that I would never dream of serving up at home letting alone in a restaurant
Complained to member of staff who said management were not there and he could not get hold of them. Left my number so they could call and they have not even bothered contacting me.
Do not eat here under any circumstances

I am the licensee for the Crown & Sceptre and wish to publically apolgise to the Anonymous reviewer (dated March 31, 2008). I was just shown this review and I immediately looked into the evening in question to see who was working that night. I can assure you that the employees that evening did not provide me with your phone number and are no longer working at The Crown & Sceptre. I would just like to say a great big thanks to all at the Crown and Sceptre for a good night last week. What a discovery. It is a lovely ambient pub right on my doorstep. I was given a warm, hearty welcome by the landlord who very friendly and introduced me to all the locals.

A big thanks too to the barman who entertained me all night with his magic tricks! The steak I had was absolutely delicious. Crown and Sceptre has a lovely atmosphere and great hospitality, just like being in my own front room.

Would like to congratulate the Walker family for the briliant pub they run. Haven´t found a pub as friendly as the Crown and Sceptre. Wish u guys at the Crown and Sceptre all the luck.

The Crown and Sceptre is a nice boozer. The beer here is in top order. The staff are cool and friendly and the Mexican food I had was good. Try the chilaquiles! I keep thinking that I must go back to the Crown and Sceptre, if only to try their Wednesday steak night!
