NOT GOING BACK AND NOT RECOMMENDING IT TO MY FRIENDS EITHER. Have you heard anything so ridiculous as a bar that refuses to sell a spirit unless it is accompanied by a mixer!?!?!?! Very annoying policy (we called the manager, who apologised, "but that's the company policy"!).This means you can't have a whisky on the rocks, a brandy, or any other non-mixer drink. You can drink copious amounts of wine and fall down the stairs, but you can't have a spirit! My friends and I are all well behaved, middle aged professionals, and we were treated like children by being told what we could and could not drink!In a time of austere economic conditions, this bar is turning revenue away! Absolute idiots! Well, there are plenty other bars in the vicinity that operate normally - thankfully!
Went there tonight. They do have a great selection of wines at a premium price. I don't mind paying a premium if the experience is right but unfortunately the poor service of the staff really wrecked my visit. Two stars for wine selection and nice decor.
The bar is great, the service is good and the G and Ts go down a treat! I've been a few times on a Wednesday night when a band called The AllStars play - they are amazing. Best place to go on a Wednesday night! I've reserved a booth the last couple of times I've been and it has been worth it as it's got packed.
Dion Chapagne & Wine Bar has a great location next door to St. Paul's Cathedral. As a bar, it's as good or as bad as any wine bar in the City, but what I think makes it stand out is the amazing live music they have.
Dion Champagne & Wine Bar is an excellent venue, very classy with some fantastic cocktails. I really loved the interior decor at Dion Champagne & Wine Bar as well - it had lots of lovely little touches.
