This should be on every Lover-of-beers-from-around-the-globe must visit list! It's a Free House with around 27 Beers on Tap – 4 Cask Ales on a rotating basis – 180 Bottles of Beer – An eclectic gourmet food menu – A knowledgeable and friendly wait staff – Maybe it’s more of a Beer Bar (think Boston in the US) than your traditional Pub, but it’s definitely a fantastic place to grab a couple pints and dinner. The Austrian Schremser Bio-Roggen and Wandle Ale on cask were exceptional!Do not miss The Draft House (3 locations in the London area)…no excuses!!!
My girlfriend and I had Sunday lunch here yesterday at about 3.30pm and were both impressed by the food and the service. The roasts for £12.50 were pretty generous portions, my only gripe would be the gravy was a tad bitter, but both the beef and the pork were very tasty, as was the sticky toffee pudding. Will be heading back there with friends for food soon.
I had heard good things about this pub and decided to make it the venue for my 30th birthday, but left disappointed.
There was a mix up with the table I had reserved (the bar staff directed me to the wrong reserved table) and when we were told to move, the staff did not honour their promise to clear our actual table. So we spent the rest of the evening standing.
The drinks were expensive, even by central London standards and the bar service poor. One barman spent more of the evening chatting to two girls he knew and giving them free drinks, rather than serving the paying customers.
The patrons were the typical self-important central London office crowd and certainly not the interesting people with great conversation that the venue's website claims.
Having lived in London all my life I have been to worse pubs, but overall this is a mediocre venue with poor service and not somewhere that I intend to visit again.
Warm reception and friendly staff, Shani and Kim. Excellent modern food with some traditional favourites. Not expensive for quality food. We will definitely go again!
I had Salmon terrine type thing then the guinea fowl and a Chocolate pud and mark 7/10, 9/10, 9/10.
Have fun. Peter
