My gt-gt-grandad used to drink in the Duke of York - I have his engraved pewter mug. So if it's still here, it must be good!

It has undergone some changes...the men's toilets are refurbished along with a top room for the extra space that you can hire out. Its a bit of a celebrity hot spot as well, celebs including Princess Beatrice, Ryhs Ifans, Liam Gallagher who said it was one of the best pubs he has had a drink in! The staff are excellent, they are friendly and like a bit of banter! You always see the Landlord and Landlady in the evenings so there is always someone to talk to about the pub and the local area. Its central to everywhere and with it being hidden away behind the bustling oxford street it is the perfect place for a quiet drink after a hard days shopping!
