Love, love this pub! Great wines to choose from, which makes a change from the standard house wines you only get offered elsewhere. My favourite place to go!!!!!
The Dulwich Woodhouse is a charming place to visit for a drink and a meal. The garden is a real oasis as you would think you are in a country pub. The staff are friendly and it is great that families are made so welcome. I have enjoyed eating out in the charming garden with my family after a walk in the nearby woods. The food is excellent with generous portions, great barbecue menu. The pub is a definite must for all ages.
Like so many others, started well but now succumbed to indifferent food, appallingly slow and disinterested staff and overpriced expensive food.
The garden is loooking a bit shabby and reflects the gradual decline of a once amazing pub. What a shame wouldn't go there again or recommend I'm afraid.
I booked two months in advance for a party of 5 for mothers day. We arrived on time but had to wait 20 mins to be seated. Once we were finally ready to give our order, we couldn't find any staff. After grabbing a member of staff we then had to wait over an hour for our food to arrive! I appreciate it was busy, but the total lack of communication and lack of an apology until prompted was terrible. The manageress even joked when she brought out the food that she hoped it was worth the wait. Not funny, when our waitress was rude and had pretty much thrown the sauces down on the table.
The food however was delicious, couldn't fault the portion size or the taste which is why I have rated it 2 stars. If it was just down to service, I wouldn't rate it at all.
I can safely say I shall never be going there again, which is a shame as the food was great.
I booked out an area for my 30th birthday party for 20 people about 2 months in advance. 2 weeks before my party I was notified by the pub that the area I've reserved was given to another party of 40 people only for the reason that the more people gets precedence irrespective of when I made the reservation. So don't bother making a reservation, it will just be ignored. Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise as I found much better service and environment for my party elsewhere. The only thing good about the pub is the garden area which can be nice on a sunny day. The service is very slow and they can't even keep up with a lazy Sunday afternoon pub service.
Myself and my partner went there today for simple pub food , he had fish and chips and I had steak medium rare ,the order came to £40 , so was not cheap . His fish and chips came and the batter was so soft and oily , served with soggier chips , we sent it back ! My steak looked like it had been cremated but was edible so I eat without complaint , but my chips were also soggy . We will not bother eating there again , it's a shame because this pub has potential but food wise is horrendous quality , especially when you consider there are many amazing gastro pubs only 1 mile away serving star quality food at same price !

I'm not a boring old fart and have a family myself, but will never again spend Sunday lunchtime surrounded by out-of-control kids throwing Connect4 pieces at each other... whilst waiting 40mins for very below average pub food.
The place seems only to be interested in renting out space to parties from the local council estate.
Extremley overpriced pub. I could not believe the size of the portions when the food arrived. It was tiny! For the price I would have expected not to be hungry after my meal. Although very well presented the food was tasteless and nothing to write home about. Service wasn't great. We sat for nearly half an hour with our finished plates in front of us, not a great view when you're trying to enjoy a drink. There are amny other places to enjoy food in the area, for a lot less, better service and a nicer atmosphere. Will not be visiting there again.
This pub has been completely ruined! This was once a a charming friendly place to get a drink.
It's now a very expensive Gastro pub. Two drinks £7-30. Full of screaming kids. The inside has been totally remodeled losing all the charm of the old bars.
I had my first pint there. Will not be going back. Think Young's have lost the plot.
one of the better pubs in the area there food is great
