Quite frankly disgraceful. Bar staff automatically charge 12.5% sercive charge, without asking or telling you. Drinks are way over priced anyway - £19.50 for two spirits with mixers and a bottle of beer! Barman then argued with me when I asked him to take the service charge off. He claimed he wouldn't get paid with out it. What a load of nonsense. It was rubbish service anyway - took ages and he forgot the beer. Avoid this place - it's a big con and the staff are rude.
All in all a great bar! I've been there a few times over the last couple of months and each and every time the night has been excellent. Great music and a top crowd.
I absolutely loved Dusk. It's great for a big night out on a weekend. The music is great, especially when they have the bongo player and the drinks and service are excellent. And if you're lucky enough to get served by one particular girl at Dusk, then you're laughing!
I could stay in Dusk till dawn, it really is a good little venue. Friends of mine came down for a night out in London and when we couldn't get into the planned club we had to give Dusk a go. I'm very glad as it turned out to be better than where we were meant to go. A wicked night.
We went to Dusk for birthday party on a Saturday night. I arrived at 7pm when it was virtually empty and got in fine but the door staff were just so rude. Before they even said hello I was told, very aggressively, to put my coat in the cloakroom before I sat down. No please, no hello, how are you, nothing. I told them I'd take my coat off when I wanted to and he shouted after me. I was so appalled by this place.
Throughout the evening the waitresses didn't seem to understand a word anyone was saying, not least how to do their jobs. By total coincidence I met up with a friend a week later and when I asked him about his night at Dusk, he said they were extremely rude and he wouldn't be going back. It comes as no surprise that I am in complete agreement.
Good points about Dusk: Drinks, food, decor, men. Has anyone met George? He's yummy.
Bad points about Dusk: Slowish service but the drinks are good, can get hot.
Love Dusk. Great service and the best cocktails in London. Five Stars.
I had a party at Dusk recently (we hired the Red Room on a "non-exclusive" basis) and had an EXCELLENT night. Thanks must go to the organisers who were extremely helpful at all times. Dusk is dead easy to hire - no charge and only a minimal deposit that you can then spend behind the bar anyway.
Only downer was that it was a rainy summer's evening so the terrace was closed, and it was hot and sweaty inside. Get some aircon guys! Otherwise spot on.
Dusk is all style and no substance. It seemed to me to be full of try-hards who probably wish that they could afford to live in Clapham. The decor isn't bad but the place is ruined by the crowd and the staff (80% of whom were rubbish). Don't waste a good evening on this place.
I went to Dusk a few weeks ago for a friend's birthday. Well, I say went to but I didn't buy a drink as we were asked to wait in the 'lobby' area and were then so offended by the door staff who asked us to wait back outside that we left. Never have I been to a bar with such rude door staff. I would not recommend it to anyone. Shame there isn't a 0 score as this place doesn't deserve 1 point.
I went to Dusk recently and have to say that I think this place is crap.
Having lived local to Dusk for over three years when it was the G2 bar, I thought it would be good for it to have a refit/facelift and great to have a decent bar on my doorstep.
Ergh. Think again. Dreadful doorstaff ruin this place.
Although its heaving on the weekends (mostly with birthday/hen parties), I dont know how they can turn away people 'not on the list' mid-week when the bar is completely empty.
This is by far the worst bar that I've been in for a long time - pretentious beyond belief, with 30 mins average time waiting for drinks...if it wasn't that I was there for a birthday I would have left. Pish.
If you want a place where the management treat you like a VIP, and go out of their way to make sure you have the best possible time, the ONLY option is Dusk!!!! Absolutely perfect!!! You can't miss the manager, tall & good looking, he'll make sure that you have the time of your life!
I agree! I reserved a table for a Saturday night and had much the same experience. The manager came over and introduced himself, we were given our champagne and we had a great night. Couldn't recommend it enough!
I think that I must have been at a different place! My friend booked her birthday at Dusk in February & we thought it was excellent. I decided to hold my birthday there as well and I was treated like a princess!
My tables were reserved for me and when I arrived the manager introduced himself, showed us to our table and produced two chilled bottles of champagne. Hardly pretentious! I love Dusk and so do my friends. Keep it up!
Despite calling Dusk three times to confirm a guestlist of 25 half my guests were refused entry. After much arguing they provided alternative arrangements having seriously insulted me and my friends with their attitude. A warning to anyone booking anything from these people.
Dusk is a horrible place. Avoid at all costs. Went for a friend's birthday and was on the the guestlist but around 15 of us had lots of trouble getting in (Although worst dressed just walked in). Very rude staff and bouncers. Very Pretentious. Your Name's not James - you're not coming in...
Went to Dusk again on Saturday and had a great time! Great cocktails (including something yummy with mango & pineapple) and a fantastic crowd! No queueing, no fuss, just a great night!
At last we have a bar in Battersea that offers fab cocktails and music. I didn't experience any pretension - instead a great welcome - and going by the crowd there, there was nothing to suggest that Dusk were trying to establish themselves as an exclusive/arrogant bar. And to avoid queues, I would say, just get there early...not because of the door staff but just because it's popular.
A fantastic bar! Great cocktails, cool people, sexy bartenders, excellent music. What more could a girl want?
Went to Dusk bar for a birthday celebration and I can honestly say it's one of the worst bars I have ever been to. Arrived at 9.30pm only to be let in 40 minutes later though I was on guest list.
After that wait I was expecting something pretty damm hot but unfortunately not. The bar staff were rude and drinks were over priced. Took me 30 minutes to get served!
I recently went to Dusk with a group of friends. Two words: BIG MISTAKE. Firstly, I had to pay for an area in the bar, I had about 60 people on my list, but got a seated area for 12 - you do the maths. Some of my friends had to wait outside in the freezing cold for up to 45 minutes. The doormen were rude, cloakroom slow, staff slow, need I say more?
I had to make most of my friends commute to the middle of nowhere as I thought I'd try somewhere nice and local - never again. Think I'll stick with the trusted names where I can guarantee a fixed smile and pleasant service.
I think that Dusk is a superb bar. The cocktails are fantastic, the managers/owners are cool guys and the music is awesome! It's a relief to have such a cool venue so close to home!
Dusk may seem cool but it's all pretention. A ludricous door policy meant that 25 odd people left at 11.30 instead of staying and drinking until close. Kind of ruined my birthday. Rude staff too!
A ridiculous door policy at Dusk meant that my friend could not get in as his shoes weren't up to scratch.
So they lost business from all ten of us - bad luck Dusk as we are big drinkers and will certainly not be returning.
Come on, aren't those kind of policies for dodgy out of town bars trying to keep out young hoons? Don't be so superficial!
We held a TV Wrap Party that we had booked via Citybash.com and Viewlondon at Dusk last week and had a really fantastic night.
It is a beautiful bar with real atmosphere and I loved the look of it when I went to see it - my only worry was whether it was too much of a journey for a big group all based in central london. I need not have worried - I had people coming up to me all night saying what a great place it was.
We held a Russian themed evening and the whole event was beautifully stagemanaged with the staff highly attentive and helpful all evening. We had a DJ, lovely, imaginative canapes and really great service.
I really recommend this venue for a party. We took over the whole bar and loved every minute...
Thank you Dusk
Cool new 'style bar' in Battersea which is a welcome addition to the area. Great cocktails and sexy bar staff make it a big thumbs up from me.
