I love the beer garden at this pub as it's massive so perfect for a summer's evening drink, and it's not a bad size inside either. The bar service is quite slow - I went on a weekday evening with plenty of empty tables and it still took us almost 15minutes to get a round!
Food was standard, although portions a little on the small side - think this is a ploy to get you to buy the dessert as well, which was very nice but a little overpriced for what it was. Actually the food in general was quite pricey for what is basic pub food and was definitely microwaved as it arrived within minutes of ordering!
Love the beer garden, love the beer, love Camden! Great place to go. The day I went it was quite busy but I didn't mind waiting as the staff were nice and acknowledged you were waiting.
What a waste of good pub. There is always a massive queue for the bar and the food is more than average with hour long waits for a simple sandwich!
You would think that the landlord what put 2 and 2 together and realise that a massive beer garden and sunshine equals a crowd. Perhaps check a weather forecast and prepare!
Time and time again this pub is ill prepared. It's sitting on a gold mine if they pulled their finger out. It seems these guys literally couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.
Shame
Awful service! I've been here to eat twice and both times it's been a nightmare to get the food we ordered.
We had to go up twice to someones food and still got excuses from the staff as to why the couldn't prepare the meals properly, 'it's new to the menu'.
How hard can it be to make falafell and chips!Shame as the pub itself is decent. Just don't order any food and expect it to arrive.
Edinboro Castle is a great place in which to sit back on a summer’s day and drink the hours away in the garden bar. It also makes for great people watching with a wide variety of clientele.
The only down fall of this otherwise great venue are the bar staff and their ability. They serve with the speed and skill of a chimp that has just undergone a frontal lobotomy.
With a stupidly spelled name, and in a part of London where the clientele seems to be a bunch of wannabes, it would be easy to hate The Edinboro Castle. But the fact is that it is a decent pub, with a slight whiff of gastropub pretension.
Predictably it offers stripped out floors and comfy seating but it also features a large beer garden for relaxed summer drinking. The only thing that counts against Edinboro Castle is the slow service, and the rather unglamorous surroundings of a railway line and main road.
The Endinboro Castle could be a much better pub as trying to get a drink there is diabolical. There are not enough bar staff and so the queues at the Edinboro Castle bar become deeper and deeper. Very frustrating indeed for what could be a good pub.
Despite the stupidly spelt name, the Edinboro Castle has a relaxed, friendly vibe and is quite good for the area it's in.
When you walk in you don't expect it to have such a cool atmosphere as it's very unassuming from the outside.
Edinboro Castle is a nice pub to chill out in, a nice suprise for that neck of the woods.
