Was there recently for a birthday.
Waitress could have done with a bit more personality. No "Welcome. Hardly a smile. No banter. No "Thank Yous" when we were leaving.
Some of the food arrived cold. Two out of the ten people at the table waited for their food for 45 minutes, which to be fair the manager did give their meal for free to make up for it which was nice.

This restaurant has the potential to be an all rounder but they seem to stumble at some of the most basic elements that could make this Mexican themed business a cracker.
Was pretty disappointed.

I was browsing through view and I decided to take a look at what people think about El camion, which is by far my fav Mexican in London and now my first choice for the cuisine, and I'm a bit shocked at what some of the reviews say because it sounds to me they are talking about a different restaurant. I know their reviews are dated last year but Ive been a regular at El Camion for over a year and been there recently, the service is great and always with a smile, food is fantastic! Great value for money and beer selections are awesome, I always like to start downstairs for a couple mojitos to sti'mulate my appetite, im never in a hurry but they do grab you for your table pretty quick, I've never waited for a long, and its not because I'm a regular and they probably recognise me. The atmosphere is cute and intimate! I like the manager the manager there, never remember his name but he is awesome, been there with my gf on a second date and we always go there now after or before cinema. Definitely go back there people, is an awesome restaurant!

Walked in for a quick takeaway lunch burrito and ended up having to wait 45 minutes! The burrito was OK, nothing special though and very small for £7.25 when compared to what you get from Tortilla. The manager was rude when we complained and tried to tell us we could just get our money back and leave after a long wait.

Verdict - don't even bother there are much better places available for this type of food all within a few mins walk.

Disappointing.

I had a chicken burrito to take away for £6.75, but it was underfilled and the chicken was burnt. Couldn't see or taste half of the ingredients it claimed to have in there.

You would be far better off at Mexicali on Berwick Street or Chipotle on Charing Cross Road.

My friends and I walked by El Camino last week and thought we would try it out. The restaurant upstairs was full, but they told us we could get the same food downstairs at the bar so decided to check it out.

Its been a while since I had Mexican food so was looking forward to what we were going to get, for starters we ordered some Jalapeno Poppers and Ceviche and for our mains, a Burrito and some Tostadas. The Poppers came first with the larger ones still being cold on the inside, they didn't taste too good either and were fairly bland. Next up was the Ceviche, which looked more like a Prawn Cocktail and the meaty bits were still tough. The biggest disappointment came when we received our mains, for the Tostadas we received 2 small pieces in a plastic tray! It looked like we had received another starter rather than a main, in spite of the price they were charging. The dish itself wasn't anything special and the chicken I had was over cooked and burnt in places. I was told the Burrito was ok, but that in no way made up for the rest of it.

The only saving grace the place had was that the waitress who was running around franticly was very apologetic and the manager did agree not to charge for the starters and one of the mains.

As a bar the place looks ok and the cocktails did look good although we didn't try any (we only had bottled beer), if you’re there just to drink you might like the place, but I would never recommend it to anyone who wanted food!

Really love this place. it has a terrific atmosphere. The bar has great cocktail and the staff are very knowledgeable. the restaurant serves up healthy Mexican food. the fish tacos are amazing! We sat by all the hot sauces, which are a nice feature. The Margaritas are great too.

Made a booking for 5:30pm on Tuesday. When I arrived with my wife and kids, I was first told that they do not take booking. I insisted that a booking was made last night and accepted. He then said that kids are not welcome.

A friend and I had lunch at El Camino in Soho today and had the best and fantastically valued meal in a long time. The service was friendly and knowledgeable but not over bearing. The atmosphere was just right with some great tunes and very comfortable surroundings. But best of all the food was delicious and nutritious. We shall both be returning on many occasions. Also must say that I adore the cream soda. El Camino is a must for Soho!

I have to ask, it was the best value meal you had in a long time. The staff were spot on, the atmosphere was 'just right' with 'great' tunes and very comfortable surroundings. The best bit was the food, and you will be going back several times. By what you have said, this is the best place to eat in the world. Why did you only give it 3 stars out of 5? What else could you want to get those extra 2 stars? A free massage? A complimentary Mexican hat and poncho? Sorry im just confused by your review to star ratio!
