This place is a good place to go for a pint and be able to talk to your friends, instead of yelling over the music like most of the other offerings in Clapham. On a sunny day you're guaranteed the smell of a barbecue cooking in the back outdoor area, and fun until the small hours. The choices in beer and other drinks is great, and service seems to be getting better, but definitely not 5 (or 4) star service. The thing that REALLY lets them down is the food. I ordered a bowl of wedges, and being a pub I expected a loaded bowl (like the other pubs I've been to). I got SEVEN wedges, drizzed in salsa and sour cream. I thought the waitress had helped herself to a couple on the way to the table. £3.50 for SEVEN wedges seems to be a little bit extortionate!! The pub could really take off, but the price (and quantity) of food has tarnished it's rep. Next time I'll buy potatoes, make my own wedges (for under £1) and drink at home with my friends instead.

In response to the other reviews - they must have sorted out their staff issues. I went to the Falcon for the first time last weekend and fell in love with it. It was an unusually warm day for Oct and the amazing garden patio in the back was really busy. The bar staff told us when we ordered that they had a back up of orders in the kitchen but they were very kind and apologetic about it. We still ordered and recieved our food from smiling waiters sooner than i've recieved food from many other pubs in the past. I left thinking how great the staff there at been. I'll be back for sure!

Agree with the other reviews: they need to SORT OUT THE STAFF attitude. What are people like that doing working with the public, in a front of house position?!! one wonders... so miserable and so arrrogant. They need to remember they only work behind a bar after all.... drop the bad attitude. Or better: change jobs! apart from that, it is a nice pub but again, so many other places around that it's worth checking them out!

They used to do really nice thai food here. They have now changed the menu which i think was a big mistake. It has been updated since the first change but for a while there was no vegetarian option apart from one little sandwich.
Apart from that, it is a nice pub in the summer and mid-week- laid back atmosphere. Wish they would bring back the thai food though! Oh, and sort out the horrid toilets.

The Falcon is a great pub - excellent location, great outside space... all the markings for a good night out, with one major problem... the staff. I have NEVER in my life experienced such rude, arrogant, lazy and miserable employees in my life. The service at Falcon is AWFUL! I have witnessed the kind of attitude that would receive a smack in the mouth under normal circumstances if it wasn't for the fact that they hold all the beer pumps (so to speak)! Either the management really doesn't take care of them or the management really doesn't care about the customer... Not sure which is worse really! Avoid - there are other much better pubs around... It is Clapham after all!

The Falcon is probably my favourite summertime bar in South London. The extensive garden bar at the back has a very good seating capacity and the Thai food served up is wide ranging and of decent quality. The crowd are a real mixture of low-key unpretentious folk, fashionistas and even the odd chippie or two. Not being much of a cocktail person, I couldn't comment really, but they do beer and tequila just fine. The staff vary from the exremely efficient and friendly, right down to lazy and a little too concerned with their newly grown moustache to move swiftly enough around the premises. Sometimes the wait can be painful due to the small bar size but in peak summer they open up a smaller annex in the garden bar to cope with demand. Overall, it's probably the best spot in Clapham for winding down on a sunny Saturday/Sunday or for wiping away those weekday blues after losing the company £1.2 million in 3 days.
