As a pub and for a drink, great. But I just had lunch here (september 2010) - they have a new menu and it is rubbish. The food all sounds quite tasty, but I paid £6.50 for the 'mushroom, Butternut and Sage Risotto' which turned out to be tasteless microwave rice with some sorry looking mushrooms and a few token bits of squash in it. It was barely mixed together, and had no cheese, no flavour, nothing to bind it together. Not a risotto - literally some cheap long grain rice. Absolutely tastless, thoroughly disappointing. I don't know who they think won't notice this. Everyone knows what a risotto is nowadays. Apart from the two clueless blokes behind the bar apparently. Or whoever the chef is. My friends had the cheeseburger and it was average apart from the fact that there were absolutely no sides, just a burger. Chips were £2.50 extra. Real shame they got rid of the pies and thai - rubbish meal. I'm hungry. Go somewhere else.

It's called Filthy McNasty's for a reason. Enjoy your drink and take comfort in the fact that it's Shane McGowan's local, even tough you didn't see him. He obviously doesn't go there for the butternut thing.

Went here for the rugby. After arriving, I had to wait five minutes into the game for them to even switch it on. Then they wouldn't let us hear the commentary.

The landlady came out and said that it was a music pub not a sports pub. So why then did she play the same Amy Winehouse CD on repeat for the duration of the match? After the 3rd rendition of "Rehab" we pleaded surely an Irish pub would care if Ireland won or not - isn't this an Irish pub after all? Only to be told "No - this is not an Irish pub". Hmmm, think twice before going here - I'm never going back.

It says whisky bar outside. You need to go to the right place rather than pointing fingers.

Irish pubs are normally more spit and sawdust than rock 'n' roll which is why Filthy McNasty's is such a godsend. Filthy McNasty's is an Irish boozer with attitude and all the better for it, in my opinion.

It's not Irish though.
