Walking into Finnegans is like walking into a River Island catalogue. there is no shortage of whooping rugby fans in stripey tops and silly hair, the gust you first aquire when arriving matches that of fermenting goats piss and the beer tastes much the same (i imagine). The place is littered with screens so there is no prospect of a structured conversation and the music could be turned down just a tad then we would be able to hear ourselfs think. If you like beer and you like good food and a good atmosphere dont bother save yourself the hassle.

however best point of interest: the exit

Now that new management has stepped in, Finnegans Wake is a great pub to hang out at!! There's quite a bit going on there - all the sporting events, live bands on Friday and Saturday nights, Playstation nights and all the rest!! They've even got pool tables and a soccer table, good fun! A GREAT improvement from a couple of months ago!! The food is good and there are good deals on cocktails and shooters.
Check Finnegans Wake out, it's worth it!!

Finnegans Wake used to be a great pub to watch the Big Rugby matches at, but frankly they don't seem to have any concept of what customers want anymore (or just don't simply care). They have loads of space and a big back room which has a huge screen to show games on (as well as a second smaller screen and loads of TV's in the main bar).

Two to three years ago I used to watch all the Six Nations games in Finnegans, as my ex used to live in the area. I've moved (and moved on) but I was looking for somewhere buzzing to watch Ireland's opener (2005) against Italy. The back room was shut, the Pool table was out in the middle of the floor where the smaller big screen was on. They had the sound turned down to a whisper as well. After ten minutes of this, I got too anxious (it was like a library instead of a pub). I had asked them to turn the sound up, but they did so grudgingly and by the smallest possible amount.

I left my friends at that point to do a recce around Ealing, to see if anywhere else was showing the game. Fortunately I didn't have to go to far, the local O'Neills pub was rammed with rugby supporters, and the craic was good.

Real shame that they seem to be mismanaging Finnegans Wake, it could still be the place to meet for rugby games if they actually cared just a little about what they're doing....

Terrible. This pub claims to cover all major sporting events on two giant screens and a multitude of smaller screens. Unfortunately that claim doesn't include Nationwide playoff finals. Despite there being a near empty pub, they refused to change the channels from MTV claiming the game was "not an advertised event". (Eh?) Despite it being Sunday lunchtime 1pm, there was next to no-one in the pub, yet the bar staff seemed happy to keep MTV on to a completely empty pub despite their inaccurate claims outside. Needless to say, our group left without buying anything. No real ale in this pub that we could see.

The staff made me wait to be served whilst they filed their nails and watched tv, they were also very rude.

The beer is expensive and tastes wrong and has the biggest head! and the food is ridiculous; I had nachos, it said on the menu tortilla chips with peppers, sour cream, cheese and salsa - I got beef flavored tortilla with lettuce (yes lettuce!), very runny salsa, a huge blob of sour cream which was curdled and cheese which was only half melted! it was disgusting.

My friend had the all day breakfast - chips, egg, bacon and, wait for it, beans and peas!!! (Beans and peas on the same plate YUK!)

And to top it all off my beer had a fly in it, I'd only had a few sips so I asked for it to be changed and the barmaid basically told me to f*** off!

Very strongly not recommended!
