went to the Founders Arms last night. Either they are extremely disorganised or they're doing it on purpose but whatever the reason our "Asparagus & Spinach Risotto served with a Founders Arms Special Mixed Salad" arrived to us as a simple risotto with neither salad nor a taste of asparagus. After complaining to the waiter, he apologised for forgetting the salad and eventually brought us a small plate of asparagus as the cook had forgotten to put them in the risotto. Had we not been on the ball or too embarrassed to complain we would only have had a simple risotto with neither salad nor asparagus. Pretty appalling!
Ordered an asparagus and spinach risotto served with the Founders Arms mixed salad. While reading the menu we realised the mixed salad had been forgotten and while eating the risotto that the asparagus had been omitted from the risotto! On request the waiter brought us the salad and A separate dish of asparagus that the cook had forgotten to include in his risotto. Conclusion: watch out you've got to keep A close eye on what they Serve you it might Have Nothing to do with what you've ordered
This pub has a fantastic view. The drinks were a little expensive but with the location that wasn't a shock.
The strangest thing is the disembodied voice in the toilets that tells you to enjoy your stay in London and watch your handbag...
I live in London and hadn't got a handbag with me, but it gave me quite a turn!!
I met friends here for lunch on a Sunday. We have been a few times before and although a little pricey it has been ok. On this particular Sunday, I ordered the roast. The meal was served but the meat was cold, so I sent it back and it was re-served with the meat just warm, my friend also had the same problem. I will not be repeating the experience.
Turned up late on a Tuesday night here after watching a show at the Globe Theatre nearby.
The view from the bar was stunning and worth lingering a while to enjoy.
Although it was past 10 in the evening, the barman who served us rustled up three coffees, even though the machine was playing up.
We felt £13 for coffees, a soft drink, a pint of bitter and a cake was good value.
Blankets were available for customers to sit outside under one of the heaters if they wanted to.
Next time we are passing, which isn't often as we had travelled up from Torquay in Devon, we will be dropping in

I agree with anonymous' review...the Founders Arms is great in location but beware if you think you're going to the pub for a few drinks and a laugh with your mates as they will throw you out for laughing too loud and noisy (if talking to your friends can be classed as noisy?!).
The Founders Arms' location is good, bar staff are not. Don't clap or you'll be thrown out and three beers mean you're binge drinking?
