This is my Fave place in London, they have some amazing Birthday packages we even got a cake and a free bottle of bubbly with our table. The cocktails are the best in London and the prices are good, i would recommend this place to anyone wanting a great night out with a great crowd of people and very helpful bar staff
one of the best gay bars in soho. friendly staff ,great atmosphere and the drinks are very reasonable specially their happy hour
The slowest bar tenders in the world! Rubbish
This place is awful. I hadn't been here for over 2 years and I was surprised to see the same old, tired , grubby decor. The bar staff are unbelievably slow. Three barmen and only one prepares the drinks while the other two dorks watch him! There's way too many girls in this place too. It's just not nice at all.
So do you like football?
if so pleas make you way down to s]Soho and go to the "Green Carnation" where the bouncers will be happy to throw you down on the ground and take two steps back like they were shooting a penalty and then kick you as you lay there.
Had a great time here with my friends.
As a rule we don't normally go to gay bars, but after a meal locally we thought we'd give it a try.
We were not disappointed. The staff are friendly and fun, the music was good and there were lotys of straight people in there so we didn't feel out of place which was nice!
I'll deff go back and have booked a table for this weekend for me & my boyfriend.
A big thumbs up from us! :-)
Had my first experience of Green Carnation Thursday night after seeing some flyer's for Toca Me, a night they have a done a couple of times so I'm led to believe.
It was absolutely amazing!! The music was rocking, the drinks were flowing (helped by the free glass of Moet on arrival), the staff were awesome and the Jagermeister through the Male Torso Ice Sculpture was truly awesome!
After such a good night i brought a group of friends on Saturday night. It was busy, still friendly and still a fab atmosphere! It was nice to see the upstairs bar was as busy as downstairs and even Gok Wan was there, chilling out with his friends!
I will certainly be back and am defo going to book my office Christmas party here...
Well done Green Carnation... See you again , very soon!! xx
Spent a second night at Green Carnation on Saturday and again, was not disappointed.
The atmosphere in this venue is really second to none! The staff are always smiling, the drinks are always fabulously presented & even more importantly taste amazing, the music always skillfully sets the tone for the evening!
I am very happy to entertain friends & clients here and have even booked my birthday party here!!
I look forward to nights when i know we'll be visiting there...
Came down here Saturday night after hearing rave reviews and definitely wasn't disappointed. Beautiful staff, combined with friendly door staff, funky music and lovely drinks always make a fabulous night! We danced the night away and could have easily carried on way after the 2.30am closing. Truly a magnificent venue, will be back very soon!
really nice bar, lovely interior and decor but such slow service!we had to wait about 20 minutes or so for the bar tender to make up our drinks and i reserved an area for 10 people and they put us in the smallest areas so i had to request more seats. Great night there though, the cocktails are very nice and the DJ played some awesome music! i would go back but maybe stick to not ordering cocktails next time!!
It was my first time at the Green Carnation and boy what an introduction.
Every thing about the venue was fab. The DJ was spinning my favourite tunes he was brilliant he got the whole crowd rocking until 2.30.
My feet were throbbing the next morning that's always i sign of a good night . I would defy any one not to have a good night .
As an out of towner I always do my research before going out and had heard my friends say they loved Green Carnation so thought I'd give it a go despite the reviews regarding poor service.
Well to say I was surprised is an understatement not only was I greated at the door to the bar upstairs and shown to a seat my order was then taken and back with me in 5 mins flat even though it was fairly busy.
The girl who served me was charming and sweet and the cocktails (my fav was watermelon Martini) were amazing.
There were quite e few tables reserved for parties which I understand can be annoying but I asked how to book and they told me it was free of charge and just to call the venue when I was coming down next.
This place is great they had a pianist on the night I was there and have never seen anything like it before a group of grown men standing around the piano belting out show tunes, FUNNY.
Needless to say I shall be returning and have booked my birthday there in September.
Another year, another owner. When are people going to realise that this place is punching above its weight? The service has always been verging on abysmal. The drinks prices are extortionate, and that's before you've factored in tips (without which the service gets worse) and 50p for the universally-irritating toilet attendant (since when did we forget how to wash our own hands?).
I won't deny that the venue is opulent, and if it wasn't so pretentious it would actually be one of the more popular venues in Soho, but as it is it's trying to appeal to a target audience who have the choice of similar luxury at a lower price elsewhere.
hey guys
I was at the green carnation on friday night and i have to say that the place is amazing and that includes the staff, friendly, courteous and everyone was having a great time music was really feel good too and a more relaxed atmosphere upstairs with the pianist.
If you are in the soho vacinity i recommend you give this place a try
cheers
Absolutely love this place! The friendliest staff in London, cheap drinks and beautiful interior. Cannot find any faults with this slick and stylish venue.
Think elegant, sophisticated and decadent. Went there last week and bumped into Tara Palmer Tomkinson and the guy from the Dolce advert. Beautiful people seem to swarm here. A must see!
Went to Green Carnation with a few friends on Friday and had a great time. The first floor looked fabulous, all references to Oscar Wild are great. Drink prices are fine. Did not like the toilet attendants. Met some great guys. We shall definitely pay an other visit very soon.
Went with the boys to see if this was any improvement on Element before it and Sanctuary before that, both of which incarnations were typified by great cocktails in nice-ish surroundings if you could bear the paint-dryingly slow service and up-its-own-ass arbitary roping off of areas for VIPs (for which read: the owner's friends).
Sure enough, Green Carnation offers very good - and very good value - cocktails in very pretty (if somewhat crepuscular) surroundings but is let down by - you guessed it - paint-dryingly slow service and up-its-own-ass arbitary roping off of areas for 'VIPs' (pretty much the entire upstairs area the night we went).
Astonishingly, only one wine for each of red, white and rose is offered by the glass, and the (bottles only) beer selection is extremely poor; no Sol or Corona people? Come on!
Go by all means for a couple of cocktails pre- or post-dinner, but this ceratinly ain't one to linger in for long. I'll be back for another of the excellent Martinis but not for the warmth of welcome or slickness of service that's for sure.
