Same meat, different gravy!
Having recently returned from travelling, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Halfway House has had yet another refurbishment.
It is now a little brighter and approachable and altogether more accomodating.
Unfortunately as pointed out by the user below me, the staff are still utterly useless, the prices border on the truly disgusting and their pitiful attempts at cocktails could almost bring a tear to your eye.
So as bad as it was before, it's still no better, but at least it feels clean now, although it can only be a matter of before the shine on the paint fades.
Some friends live in Earlsfield and they invited me to come and try out the recently refurbished Halfway House. The decor is very nice, however I had a Mojito that tasted of dish water!!!! The cocktail toOK 15 minutes to make and was utterly terrible. Why do these pubs try and be something they are not! I have never heard of a Young's pub trying to sell cocktails. There were lots of staff working, but they were clueless and lazy! We tried some bar snacks and they were ok if not over priced. A bottle of Magners is £5.05!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I am sorry but this pub has tried very hard and spent a lot of money on the interior to be let down by overpriced drinks and useless staff. They should have spent the money on staff training and kept the drinks prices reasonable. I never knew this pub before but I will not be rushing back or recommending it to anyone. Matt
another over priced, atmosphere free youmgs pub
really enjoy coming to this pub. the refurb is really good and the service is fantastic. i drink here regularly and always indulge in the delicious bar snacks they have on offer. definently recommend this pub if you want a quiet drink or a night out with friends!
This bar looks awesome and the new refurb is great, however, I find the place bland and the food is dreadfull. I have been a few times with girly mates and we like the seating areas but the staff are uninterested.
Would not recomend it to anyone but I will go in again if everyone else wants to.

I was really surprised to read all the review about 'dreadfull food & even worse service'. I'd like to share with you about my experience. Me and my friends had a girly night in Earlsfield. We ended up in The Halfway House and indulged in wine and their sharing plates. We didn't even have to move from our table and our waiter recomended the matching wine with our snacks. He couldn't have been more helpful.
Even though it was busy Friday night, the bar staff were friendly and having fun with customers. In the middle of our party there was a Tequila man offering the shots.
Anyway, I would definitely recomend this place for having a nice night out.
The food was absolutley dreadful. The bar looks warm and cosy but the staff are bland and seem not interested.
I would not recomend this place. Earlsfield is a good night out now on Fridays, very surprised.
Dreadfull food and even worse service!
The new refurb looks great!
I went for food and it was dreadful, really bad! All the of the people with me had something to complain about. My Steak was tiny and tough.
The staff were non helpful and not really interested. If you want good food try Willie Gunns or Kazans. If you want a nice drink with good staff try Bar 366.
On a positive note the beer garden is really good though.
