My gay friends (who were NOT regulars at Heaven!) took me there for my 19th birthday and it was amazing! I literally loved every minute! Drink prices were okay for central London and the music was good.
But here comes the worse bit..
A week later I decided to take a couple of my other friends there as they have even been to a gay club, so I thought heaven was a brilliant idea! We got to the club and the butch female bouncer turned me down because Im 'not a regular'! I told her I was here last week and she said I was lying as she has never seen me before. She even asked the other bouncers if they have seen me and they all said no!
Please can someone explain how can I become a regular if they wouldn't let me in and how can they remember me from last week if hundreds of people go each week!
Even thought I enjoyed my first time there very much, the second experience let it down a huge amount! if your planning to go beware!

I am not, never have been, and now never will be, a customer of Heaven nightclub. Despite this, my friend's and I were treated to a real eye opener of a display of what it must be like to be a Heaven customer.
Following a night out in central London, my group were saying our goodbyes to one another on Villiers Street when a member of Heaven nightclub approached us to say we needed to move on due to noise levels. Given that we were already in the process of moving on, (as evidenced by the hugging, cheek kissing, and waving) we felt this was a little odd. But what really got our backs up was the way in which we were asked to leave the area; a public right of way that, the last time I checked, doesn't fall under the jurisdiction of some jumped up little man in a yellow tabard.
Apparently, the words "excuse me", "please", and "thank you" don't form part of the vocabulary of door staff at Heaven. The words that do, I can't write on this site. He also didn’t seem too bothered about his own contribution to “noise levels”.
His manner and tone was so aggressive and disproportionate to the situation, that I felt compelled to write a letter of complaint to the club's manager; the first time I think I’ve ever complained about somewhere I’ve never been! I've yet to hear back.
If this disgusting excuse for door staff is representative of the club as a whole, I have no intention of ever frequenting this place!
Hit and miss if you will get in (let girls in but turn away gay guys, ridiculous), door staff are appalling. Avoid
Completely disappointed.
Wanted to take my gay cousin there for her birthday as a surprise.
We were going in fancy dress as sailors. The manager told us that not only did they do a guestlist for a birthday party but if we turned up in fancy dress we might not get in.
Bear in mind this was Porn Idol night, where men get naked in front of a judging panel. But six women dressed in tasteful sailor costumes weren't welcome.
Disgusting! Pretentious! Don’t bother going
ok club - long queues to get in, drinks dear but crowd are fun and up to party. i go maybe once a month and its fun.
One of the best club I've ever been too! with exceptions to the door staff who can be very rude and pretentious. When you enter the club, you actually don't realize how big it is until you wonder round to mingle and realize there 5 rooms and they've recently added a balcony.. Which is a must for celebrity spotting especially on Saturday nights, as nearly every/ other week they host a performance, whether it be Brittany spear, X factor (Contestants), Blue, Jessie J, etc..... the list is absolutely endless.
Best thing about heaven, is its a safe environment to party. I have needed help from the medic, four times in the last 2 years (all self inflicted accidents) and the two medics "cutez (a very hot black guy) and Dawn ( skinny female with blonde hair )" have been extremely welcoming, very professional and you can tell that they are health-care professionals as every time Ive been in, they have always been spot on in diagnosis.
The only downer is.... the ventilation. As heaven is underground it gets extremely hot in there some nights, even with air con on full blast, so you have to think wisely about clothing to wear, but on the up side... you get to see allot of skin, from not only hot and gorgeous men, but also women

Have been a couple of times with some friends, but have never been surprised. It doesn't offer any added value whatsoever.
Even the VIP lounge is kitschy and chav like.
Anyways, if you get together a nice group of friends and come with no pretension whatsoever, you will have a laugh, because the club is massive and I'm sure you'll find something you'll like music-wise.
Do AVOID Monday nights as the management goes completely different and the main crowd is straight. Me and my lesbian friend have stopped going there, because, although the music is better, she keeps getting harassed by drunk straight men. Plus, if you go there on a gay night, you get your hand stamped and you can even get your pints outside if you wanna have a fag. But on a Monday night, you pay £1 for a wristband and you can't even bring a bottle of water outside, which I think is disgusting on a supposedly gay club, while hosting a straight night.
Don't bother. Heavy-handed door staff ruin the experience before you've even walked through the door. They asked me and my friends if we had been drinking before going to the club. Of course we'd had 2-3 drinks in the pub before going to Heaven (as everyone does) but were by no means drunk and yet they immediately turned us away because we hadn't arrived at the club stone-cold sober. This seems like an odd reason to turn people away from a club which is full of people that would be significantly more drunk than us. They found different reasons to turn away a number of people in the queue which makes me think that the staff are just idiots high on the power of wearing a fluorescent yellow jacket. There are plenty of clubs in London that will welcome you in and be happy to take your hard-earned money, so don't bother with Heaven who treat their customers like meat.
This is truly the best club ever! I always go on a monday because anyone can get in, no wristbands needed. It is so friendly and insanely big in there. Its big like ministry of sound. I've got to say the music is the best! They really know what the best house music is! Its like ibiza in there, the guys are shirtless! Lol its soo big in there they have 2 big main rooms, one house one rnb, a stunning lounge, a cool balcony, an arcade lol and another small room. The drink prices are unbelievably cheap! Generally £3 each! Everyones so friendly, they r not like those expensive snobby guesslists only clubs out there! Its mixed in there too, u meet amazing people. I've been going here since 2007 and its never disappointed me! Every monday is always so packed full with crazy friendly people! Also the ticket price is so cheap, Im a student and its only £1 entry for students with their student cards! Woaw. Anyway its just epic
Heaven, once a fantastic club, now a dive thanks to GAY and the famous (for the wrong reasons) Mr Jeremy Joseph. I had been going there since I arrived in London in 1997, sometimes 3-4 nights a week. Always a different night, cutting edge music and a nice crowd of guys. Then, taken over by GAY, awful. Pop music, twink queens who are so arrogant and up themselves. Music, like listening to a radio, last time I was there I heard the same Whitney song 4 times, I mean...come on! Thats not to mention the arrogant awful security there, who do they think they are, rude doesn't come close. RIP Heaven, you were once the superclub of London with fantastic music, varied nights (remember Bedrock?) and nice staff. I will remember you as some of the best nights out I ever had. Thanks GAY for destroying it, now and awful place.
I went to Heaven for the first time on Saturday and I found the venue to be OK and the people ok. The problem and there is 1 is that the bouncers of the club are rude. Got into the queue with 4 men and 2 women all of us gay and they were telling people to move down the queue in such a rude fashion. Got to the front of the queue and the bouncer asked us all what clubs and bars we go to? As though to say that going to any other club or bar doesn't make you gay. Silly I know. Anyway we got in there and no matter where you went the staff were rude. The atmosphere is ok but it just seemed so cheesy especially with 'Porn Idol'. As a lesbian I found it so disproportionate with the amount of men there, I wondered if I went to a mixed gay club at all. I spent most of the night in the R'n'B room and it was packed out. Went downstairs to the room that played all the pop music and put our bags down with coats on top and then another female bouncer came along and asked who's bags they were we all grabbed who's was who's and as she walked off she gave us a dirty look.
This was my first time on the scene and Heaven unfortunately gave my 1st experience a bad rep. I think we all should have spent our time at G-A-Y instead of going all the way to Heaven. Yes it's the same company but run totally different, from my own experience. G-A-Y seems more friendly. Plus I got £3 wristband to get into Heaven cheaper.
I may return to Heaven again but if it's like the 1st time then I shall never return again. Sad to say but oh so true.
horrible staff, pretentious queens dishing out arm bands for reduced entry they forget to inform you that you are going to meet with obnoxious door staff who will turn you away.
This nightclub uses intimidation to harass patrons.
Whilst dancing in the nightclub, the management lifted mine and my companion's handbag. We initially thought they were lost, so went to enquire if they were handed in at the coat desk. This is when management informed us that they had our bags and would not return them as they wished to 'make an example of us'.
We were taken to another area of the venue and physically surrounded by the manager, security and bar staff who repeatedly used aggressive behaviour, including forcefully grabbing our arms when making the point that we are the 'worst people that has ever been in the club'. We find this hard to believe as, although our sobriety was marginally compromised, our behaviour was close to exemplary.
This behaviour is never excusable, however could be understood if we acted out of turn. This wasn't the case. Neither me nor my companion were rude or unruly. We simply made the mistake of leaving our bags unattended, which were stolen - by the venue - who refused to return them and our property to 'make an example of us'. We're still not sure what they meant by this, and surely this amounts to theft.
The venue eventually returned our property and barred us.
I thought I'd write about my first and second (and last) experience of going to Heaven which was back in October last year. I went specially there to see my ultimate favourite artist Marina Diamandis from Marina and the Diamonds. It was her Birthday show and it was my first night out in London as I'd just started University near the capital. I we to G-a-y Bar in Soho first to get the £3 wristband, and made friends with a group of girls and two gay guys who were nice enough to lead the way to Heaven. The queue was a reasonable size and before we knew it we were being spoken to by the security guards. They asked whether the girls were with us, and no thinking I said 'yes', being inexperienced and naive about the segregation taking place and gay clubs. They immediately told us we all had to leave the queue. At the time I was completely dumbfounded at their request. I tried to persist, and they gave the usual complete bollocks about it being a members club etc. The blonde bouncer on the door was explicitly rude, saying if I wanted to see an artist, I should pay to see them at an arena and not at Heaven - this makes no sense. Surely by advertising an artist your going to attract fans of the artists? Surely more people come because they want to see the artist. I nearly twatted her in the face. -_-dazed and confused, me and my gay friend tried going round the other side. We nearly got in but were spotted by the bleached marauding lesbian goblin, and were immediately thrown out. I similarly saw this happening to others and the atmosphere was horrific. It was like being in a concentration camp. Some people were actually crying, and I felt disgusted, angry and completely devastated I wasnt going to see Marina. I recently spoke to Marina about this, and she was completely shocked and appalled by this kind of behaviour being employed. In the next few months I will be interviewing her on behalf of eqmusicblog, and I will be sure to discuss the matter further.
Spent New Years Eve there last night, had a great time.....until I turned up at the cloakroom at the end of the night and found my phone missing from my pocket. Was sent by the cloakroom attendant to security at reception, who then sent me outside to another security member - nobody cared in the least that a £500 pound iPhone had been robbed - they searched the room for 5 seconds with mini torches, before rudely and arrogantly pointing out cameras and telling me there was no way the attendant could have done anything etc. Evidently in Heaven phones dissolve into thin air. Two members of management then turned up (dressed like scruffy technical crew), no apologies, no hint of manners or professionalism, before shouting at me that i was making false accusations and there was nothing they could do. They wouldnt even check the cctv in the cloakroom unless i went to the police......guess where im going in a couple of hours lol
I used to love Heaven. Now its a shit hole! The last three times ive been there it has been a nightmare. The first time, this is what happened. Im straight and had gay girls and "lady boys" able to push in front of me and pay £1 to get in. I had to £8, staff were absolutely rude I got man handled by the women security as well as the men. My stuff got lost in the cloak room because they had hired someone who couldnt speak english. And couldnt match my initials to my belongings. If all this has not convinced you. Me and A bunch of my friends (straight) got chucked out because we some drug overdosed girl pushed into friend. After 6 months I decided to come back again. To see my luck, this time everything went smooth and im not being prejudice but there was this english bloke with a thai lady boy who was giving a blow job in the middle of the dance floor. Which was just disgusting for quite alot of people. All the security did instead of warn them was spray water and let them continue.(if that was me and my boyfriend I would be man handled in my underwear to the exit). My boyfriend was getting harrased my a number of brazilian women as well brazilian lady boys and he ended up punching one. Luckly security did not see. After that I decided never againits 1 year and half one and I went on monday as friends from abroad wanted to go but I warned them. Went through there all qaeda security checks, paid £1 as I had a student card but man behind the counter absolutely rude. They removed the movie room and now its mini trocadero arcade games. Music is crap. Harrased by brazilian thai and other foreigners looking for british passports after 30mins left.
The Club is great for Party-People !
The prices for drinks waned OK , and the music brilliant
Dance / Trance / Charts / RnB / House !!
The best Gay Club in London !
I have been going to Heaven since I turned 18 in 2004, I never once had a problem getting in, I even forked out £450 for the premium membership as I loved the club so much...
Fast forward to when G-A-Y moves in, and I start getting rejected as Im "not a member or a regular"
It's a joke, I'm there so often the John on the door at the VIP area knows me. (Even though you don't have to be a VIP anymore to get it there, you often feel like a sardine in a can)
On many occasions it has ruined my night as either myself or my friends cannot get in.
Jeremy Joseph was taken to court before for his hetrophobic entry policy. He has single handedly ruined the club I loved through my first years on the scene.
Heaven used to be edgy, having different nights all the time, now all you get is an XFactor reject and a crap singer desperate for the pink pound!
Visited the venue last night for the first and last time.we were so excited to be going to the gay super club of London.what a dissappointment! The place is an absolute dog hole, it's like a dungeon.each room is filthy, the clientele leaves a lot to be desired and the vile bouncers and airport check in just add to the disappointment.want a fag? Go out of the front entrance of the club and congregate round a group of large bins to enjoy your cigarette and drink...how attractive! British gay people should be ashamed of ourselves if this is is all u can offer in the capital.we want chic, clean trendy clubs with a nice clientele to match. The only reason this place keeps any punters is the cheesy pop acts x factor rejects. One place I never want to visit again!
Totally agree with all that. Staff in Heaven is rude ans arrogant. They don't care much about customer's. Heaven is not the same as was before. Jeremy the owner should do something about it. And one more thing. Card limit is £10! It's crazy. Did any one know's some other big nice gay place?
i went there with a group of 7 friends only one of us was gay. we went there because we thought it would be really fun and we had been drinking before hand but no where near 'drunk'. but the female door staff were not very nice to me and my other female friend as we walked in but they let us in any way. but less than 40 mins letter i was man handled out of the club, at the time i was 18, weighing 7 stone and im 5ft 1". both the female staff pushed me about like i was some massive burly bloke! when i asked why they had kicked me out they said it was because i was causing trouble. no way i was the tiniest person in there! when i told them i would be informing the police they threatened me!! such lovely people!!
This place should be ashamed of their staff..they are rude to the limit..and i never seen such rude door people as much.. went there and got rejected for not looking gay for them as they lie and say it's members night ONLY...that's bullshit as my gay friends were in and they are not members..if u don't look gay to them they won't let u in
i went with my gay friends i got in easily..the door girls are rude..she kept throwing my things and checking everything ..i don't mind it...but hey manners lady...she is black lady with short hair..in the other hand the brown long hair white girl is rude too..it's night mare for smokers as they don't have smoking area and u go on street to smoke..every-time they search u which takes ages....the music is great but hey the bouncers are rude and they can ruin ur night in..specially if u are smoker as u have to put up with their rude comments and search every time u go out....love gay boys as they are friendly ..but Bi men kept squeezing my bum..which was annoying as one of my mate told me the same about heaven ...they need to teach their staff some manners of good customer service as they represent the club..love heaven ..but sorry rude staff..and it can't be worse than this place as they are proper rude to people and straight females
rude bouncers i go with gay boys i get in and they are not members ..i go with few girls we get rejected ..and they use that line of saying it's members only..it's a lie my mate was there at the night we got rejected and he is not member....i find the door girls and men rude arrogant and stuck up..i love the music though and it's nice on sat..but shame door people are horrible and me complaining about them i got told by the manager that they needed to be picky whom to let in..and he hung up on me..not fair on people and we are just girls..the door man told us to go to get the flyers all the way in soho to get in..we went all the way and back he rejected us..what a shame i stopped going there because of that of the door staff..maybe i need to wear a pink wig to get in..but its really bad for the reputation of the place..why not get friendly staff..even the manager is worse when i told him why reject us while letting every one who looks proper gay in.. shame
Be warned: if you dont look a stereotypical gay or very metrosexual then you are almost certainly going to be turned away. Also a word of advice - you may get questioned which previous gay bars in the area you have been to so a bit of research helps !
I was thoroughly disappointed by Heaven and their discrimination against straight females, after travelling down for 3 hours all the way from Manchester with my friends for a night out there. I went with 3 of my friends last Saturday night- two of us are straight girls and the other two gay boys (one obviously gay and one straight-looking). We got there early at 10pm to avoid the massive queue, and were the 2nd group in the queue. The security staff had obviously seen us queuing for an hour by the time they opened the doors at 11pm- they'd even spoken to us when they came round to ask us to get our id ready. However, when we got to the metal detectors, us two girls were immediately told it was "regulars and members only" and turned away- despite none of us having been before! They also knew we were a group but let the boys in, which meant one of their staff had to go down to tell them to come back- did they really think we'd split up for the night!?! The boys also insisted that they weren't members or regulars just like us girls so why had they been let in and us not? We received no clear answer- the same goes for when we asked why on earth they'd not told us that it was "regulars and members only" when they'd seen us standing at the front of the queue for so long- at least then we could have gone somewhere else by a reasonable time. Whilst standing outside deciding what to do, having wasted over an hour of our evening queuing, we noticed that all of the people turned away were straight females like us- one girl was there with her gay best friend and they let him in and not her- how ridiculous! We definitely won't be going back. This kind of rude, discriminatory and inconsiderate treatment is not what we made a 3 hour journey for.
Apologies for repeating others comments but it's true. if you don't look 'gay' the bouncers turn you away with some old pony.
I actually watched the queue tonight. The cute guys got in fine and as soon as it got to a lesbian couple they were asked for membership and then turned away.
I have been 'allowed' inside before however (12 quid). The music is good but the place smells of vomit, so what's the big deal about this place? How can this obviously discriminatory door policy be justified?
if u don't look gay they will say it's only members..we tried few times they reject us while gay people r queuing ...i went with my gay male friend and they let us in..not fair..but i didn't like the music on mondays..saturday is totally gay and hot and sweaty but the music is great on sat...if u don't look gay they won't let u in...
After looking forward to a visit at Heaven me and my friends was very dissapointed when the guards asked us for a wristband. So we went to Chinatown to get a wristband but when we returned the guard asked us for a "membership" and since we had none the night was a disappointment. We talked to some of the guests who were outside smoking and they said nobody even asked them for a "membership" but they look far more like the stereotype "homosexual" than we did. Thumbs down for Heaven, maybe the club is great but if you don't look gay you will probably never find out :)
Shame on this club, they treat you like shit if you are not member or stereotypical gay,I got the wristbands from the gay bar that they promote, which don't guarantee you'll get in,went from Spain and they spoilt my sat night at London, thank you very much for a rubbish experience.
I have to say that Heaven is now immersed with all I dislike with G-A-Y. Unless you look like a stereotypical gay you very possibly will find it a problem getting in.
I remember years ago being dragged by my ex to G-A-Y late and me always being asked " do you know what club this is?" and then being told it's "members night" actually I was quiet happy when this occurred because the music was not to my liking.
The "membership" policy is only used if you don't fit the mould. For a community that strives to be part of society Heaven seems committed to segregate(except Wednesday's) even my straight skateboarder type friends have had trouble presumably due to their piercings
Ive been going on and off for 8 years and will now only go back through gritted teeth. Music is quiet good, People and bar staff friendly(although never enough on shift) but the prejudice I have witnessed in terms gender and sexuality makes this club a no go.
Attended Heaven last night as planned and previosuly mentioned and a had a great night!
Huge thumbs up to Heaven, great music, great atmosphere and lots fun things going on! The bouncers were sound too :D
I went to see Ciara here and arrived early for Cheap entry .
Firstly the doorman said "are you members?" So me being honest said no and he told me I wasn't allowed in ... how ridiculous, after queing for ages.
So my friend also with me didn't get in. He also took our wristbands for £1 entry so we tryed the other side.. the women on this side didn't even ask!
This is poor communication and basically made us que for ages and put a downer on the night.
I personally felt as if the night had been spoilt as it was my birthday. Once in the man asked for £12.50, which is sooo expensive!
Too expensive and mostly you can get Free entry if u get there early in most clubs!!
Once in the club, it was hot and croweded and the light was minimal, the people inside where rude aswell!
Dancing was ok untill they told the crowd 1 hour till ciara. then it got very hot and it literally felt as if we where being swished.
We stayed for a bit to see ciara ...which was ok but still too hot and i felt very ill at this point. In conclusion Heaven was rubbish, rude staff, unhelpful and expensive.
I say don't go here unless its just for a dance, not to see a live performance!!
since the brand G-A-Y has taken over Heaven it has lost any reputation that previous management and owners have built up over the last 20 odd years.
G-A-Y should be ashamed to use the name Heaven.it is now tacky and full of border line 18 year olds. The music is the most commercial tacky pop.
I was in Heaven on Saturday (01/11/08) and this was my first time in there. There was no queue to get in which was great, just the searching of the bags. B4 hand though it is good to walk around Soho and see if you can grab the flyers or wristbands.
Queue for the cloak room was quiet long but moved very quickly. Only thing I didn't like about it was the toilets. There was leaks everywhere and 1 toilet for the women! Very small aswell!
RnB room was wicked spent most of the night in here, stood up by the fans and sofas so made everything more comfortable.
Main room was also good, dancers were wicked and they had water spraying on u and massive balloons flying about!
Very big club would recommend it, but only if you've had a lot of sleep the night before!
heaven well what can i say, ive been going for more years than i can remember, well over 20 and i have to say ,its been reinvented many times over the years ,but at present it has hit a all time low.popcorn on wednesday has gone so downhill i may not bother. sat.is even worse!!!!! the place has turned into a place for tourist not london clubbers. as for monday the attitude of punters stinks!.but the thing that pisses me off is paying £1 just to go outside 4 afag wot a ripoff sort it out heaven your losing many many punters that have been loyal punters over the years.p.s it gives me no pleasure to write this way about a club that has been such a large part of my life.
You want know how cool it is?You have to go there is amazing,,,anyway, i ggo there almost every monday, and i really enjoy it...I mind really enjoy it...I love that club, beautiful HEAVEN...*((xavier))*
Although Heaven is considered as one of the best gay clubs in London, what destroyed my mood was the way that the security treated me on the entrance. During searching my hand-bag, the security was very rude. He was throwing things away without even asking me, he was doing rude questions to me about things i had in my bag like tissues and chewing-gums and when he saw that i didnt like the way he was treating me, he said that he wouldnt let me in the club. Anyway, the point is that he was extremely rude, not only him but almost all the security staff of this club.
I left with my friends, annoyed by his behaviour and since then we havent been there again.
I believe that the way that clubs treat their customers, is much more important than good music and a good venue. Why paying so much money, to go to a club where its staff does not respect you?
I am usually very picky with clubs, I didn't even like mos but i LOVED heaven.
The staff is very polite and the crowd is also pleasant - the dancers are amazing! =p and the music is great!
Would go there every week!
