Lovely little bar in Wimbledon Village. Not too far from the station, walking distance but we did get a cab and some got a bus as we weren't sure on the location. Booked my party a few days before and there was no problems at all booking it. Received an email very promptly confirming. I did encounter a little problem however with the booking on the night, but was saved by Mike the manager. I booked the biggest section for 10-15 people and had a call to ask if i minded moving to another section which I then said i don't mind as long as we can all fit. Unfortunately when I got there, a different manager had been dealing with my booking and handed it over to the new staff, and they had moved my booking to a very small area. Mike was absolutely brilliant, he asked the 3 ladies who were taking up the bigger section to move (politely) but they very rudely wouldn't. Mike took me aside and explained the situation, he kept us in the smaller area but also moved everyone off the tables and out of that whole area and made it my own section, which was actually better in the end! He also gave us a complimentary bottle of Moet and said I can even chose the music all night. He was also my personal bodyguard all night hehe, whenever someone I didn't know stumbled into my party section, he would politely let them know it is a reserved area. We all had a brilliant time, good music, lovely helpful staff and nice atmosphere. Really glad I chose that bar for my birthday. Me and my boyfriend had a chat with Mike at the end just to thank him again for saving the night, and he said no problem and he hopes to see us again. And I'm sure he will.

A cracking little cocktail bar in the heart of Wimbledon Village. Beautiful interior, nicely lit and a classy but welcoming atmosphere - matched with a friendly team both behind the bar and behind the business. Cocktails are of a high standard - and the venue caters for every necessity - whether it be a quiet-ish evening with your friends for a good catch up - or a more outgoing evening - you will find yourself at home at Hemmingways.

Went to Hemingways with the girls last friday for a friends birthday party and enjoyed our time thoroughly. Had amazing cocktails and there were a few birthday girlie packages to choose from. The music and atmosphere were great, not to mention the friendly staff. Definately recommend it to anyone. Had a great night!

Great bar, good atmosphere and music, friendly bar staff. Drinks a bit pricey but because they serve doubles as standard. Wide range of classic and house cocktails as well as sharing cocktails in novelty containers. Good fun bar for a few casual drinks or as a start of the night venue. Slowly becoming a regular drinking spot for me!

This place is just amazing, I had my party there and the staff especially the manager Richard couldn't do enough to help make my day the best ever...the drinks packages are amazing value and they tailored one especially for me and the girls ..they even gave me a free cocktail that came out with a flare served in a giant CUP CAKE birthday cake.. It was brilliant i will be back and often... London needs more independent and locally owned bars like this ....x

What a night! From what I can remember I had a great time and when I called back the next morning to see if they had found my favourite sunglasses, I was in luck! A member of staff had picked them up and kept them safely for me ... Nice to know that there is a great cocktail bar near by with honest and helpful staff … See you soon Hemingways!

This is just the place that Wimbledon Village needed.
A stylish venue to enjoy a few great cocktails & have some delish sushi.

This is definitely my new local hangout & I'm definitely loving the eye candy behind the bar.

On one hand this bar is just what was needed in Wimbledon, and its lively atmosphere on a Saturday proves that there is a market out there for it. However, I just cant overlook the poor quality of the bartenders. Many of the drinks on the menu are fruity and long, not a bad thing considering the likely clientele and time of year. The drinks in this category were perfectly drinkable. Unfortunately it is clear that the bartenders do not have a real passion for drinks and were churning them out as if they were factory farmed chickens. This meant wild free pouring and laziness such as splashing bitters all over the top of a finished drink and allowing it to run down the sides of the glass, before sending it to a customer. As I said earlier, they were busy but having drunk in many a quality cocktail bar on a busy night I know the difference between a bartender who is making drinks quickly but with care and passion for his craft, and an arrogant bloke who thinks he is gods gift chucking liquid into a glass and calling it a cocktail. The result when I ordered a margarita on the rocks was the worst drink I have ordered in a London cocktail bar. You cant make a decent margarita by just chucking the ingredients together and hoping for the best. This is a real shame because their cocktail menu actually reads quite well, but until someone teaches these guys how to measure and balance drinks (or at least take the effort to check the drink and correct before serving) then I for one wont be coming back.

Essentially, if you aren't particularly bothered by the quality of the cocktails and just want a fruity number to quench your thirst over the summer then this will be just fine. If like me you were excited by the prospect of a proper cocktail bar in Wimbledon, this isn't one, 69 colebrooke row/callooh callay/hoxton pony/the loft etc etc will no doubt be delighted to receiveve your custom.

What a find in the village, very tasty cocktail bar with quite a few specials up there sleeves. Try those cocktails from the Bowler hats, they slip down a treat! Staff were very friendly, fast in mixing up some very cheeky cocktails, and it had a good vibe. Sweet.

One star is a rating more than it deserves. Hemingways is overpriced, and practices false advertising. The menu offeres is a scam and the only drinks available on it is those that do not involve blending (as this cocktail bar does not have a blender and neither does it have jugs to serve all the cocktails offered in jugs and no alternative is offered. Besides all of this I stuck it out for a mates birthday, paying £8 a drink for drinks that don't even live up to their names, only to be physically picked up and thrown out at 1:15 because I asked to be served a drink. Tje website advertises until 1:30 but apparently this is not the case. Our evening was ruined and our wallets damagedn never have I been treated so badly! Good luck if you dare risk Hemingways!

Hi Paula, I am Kelly McAteer the new owner of Hemingways Bar.
Firstly I want to thank you for taking the time to comment on your visit to Hemingways and I do apologise you did not enjoy your experience .
As you may know, we have been open for just a week and naturally there are always a few ‘creases... See More’ to iron out with a project of this size..we have just undergone a huge transformation with the refurbishment of the bar.
That said, I do take your comments seriously and I will be discussing them with my management team . I suggest that you contacted me or my manger Richard directly should you wish to discuss the matter further.
I must say that It is somewhat of a surprise to me that you should have such an experience as we have had an over welmingley positive and delightful response from the hundreds of people and locals and that were at our launch or have visited us so far.
To be clear on our trading hours we serve Alcohol until 1am and with have half and hour dinking up time.
I do hope that you dare risk it and come and visit us again soon, to give us the opportunity to let you encounter the true Hemingways experience we are committed to create.
Kind regards,
Kelly McActeer & The Hemingways team.
