Very happy, paid £10 for 2 including burgers. The comedians were all very good, had us laughing out loud the whole way through. Staff are very polite- however we pre ordered our interval drinks when we got there and they did not arrive. When we asked a staff member he said they had no record of the transaction. Anyway after a good 20 minutes of speaking to different staff members we received them. Considering the price we paid we were more than happy. Coctail pitchers are overpriced at £14.00 (you only get 3 drinks out of it) but 2 spirits and mixers are about £7.20.
Me and my partner went to the Highlights club last nite and we had a great time. I purchased a deal (2 tkts and 2 burgers for £10). Being our first time there, I was impressed by how attentive the staff were. The food was really good too, the burguers were handmade and ordered a portion of onion rings, which were handmade too. Value for money was good - 2 G&T were about £7.50.
I had a great time, I loved it. I paid £5 via KGB Deals and also got the food included. The Burger was very nice and all the staff were Fantastic. The Atmosphere was also great.
The comedian do swear a lot and its a bit rude too but I didn't mind.
Tried to remove all the stars but can't be done apparently. We had a dreadful evening. Raucous stag and hen parties spoiled the atmosphere, the compere struggled to manage, one act made an embarrassing retreat from the stage. Two of the four acts were quite entertaining but you could hardly hear them for jeering and cackling from the pissed stags and hens. At £18 you expect better. Didn't eat but the food looked revolting. Avoid.
we went there on Sat the 14th of August for the comedy which we got the tickets for dirty cheap through their promotional offer. the staff were friendly but incompetent, we ordered a pitcher of John Smith which turns out they did not have, so we had to change to Guinness. 5 minutes later, the waiter came back and said the Guinness is £2 more expensive, we told him it should be complementary but he said the manager asked him to ask for the extra money - fair enough. we waited for 15 minutes and asked for the pitcher twice until it came, how much time does it take to fill a pitcher! the place was not busy at that time and we finished our food before the pitcher arrived, but when it came it was nice and cold. on the menu it said the pitcher is 4 pints, but it wasn't, we asked for a top up after pouring half of it which was clearly below the 1 litre (or 2 pint mark) {although 2 pints should be more than a litre, weird pitchers!} but the waiter blamed the manager again for not allowing him to top it up! i don't think there was a "manager" it was just a way out for the waiter.
i did not stay long enough after the comedy because the music was not all that great.
to summaries, go for the cheap 1p promotional offer to the comedy and that's pretty much what this place is worth. dont pay full money, don't get food, don't stay for the club.
We went with trepidation to the Camden Highlight on Friday 2nd - I didn't read the reviews until after we had made the booking. I am pleased to say we had a very good night and have no complaints. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful - from the manager to the waitress to the bar staff. The toilets were clean and had paper. The compere was funny and so were the acts - some a bit better than others but that is to be expected. A few f words but not enough to spoil the jokes. We had a burger and although it wouldn't have won an award it soaked up the alcohol and it was a generous size and well cooked. Came with chunky fries and was nicely presented. The price of drinks was good - can't remember how much the beer was but the wine was £12 upwards per bottle. We thought the whole evening was a fun night out and good value for money.
We went with a group on Friday February 5th. The venue left a lot to be desired - no toilet seats , no paper in most cubicles and where to dry your hands thank goodness for trousers. Yes the staff were friendly and helpful. Compere better than the main acts. Comics very mediocre the first was funny but it went downhill very quickly, yes you laughed but at their awfulness. Low rate comedians think that if you add a f word or f gesture after every clean word its funny - it takes much more than that to be a comedian!
The compare was really not funny at all, but the main acts were good and had me in stitches at points. The staff were really nice and friendly and didn't seem too cool for school like some young staff can be. The food however was atrocious. A friend received his burger that was still partially frozen, my girlfriend left all of her pizza (an unusual style - toppings underneath the layer of cheese so it is all uncooked) and I only ate half of my burger. A first for me as I have been known to happily eat sand!!
All in all a good night if you don't make the mistake of dining there.
I beg to differ. I went there last weekend and the experience was dreadful. I think I counted one joke in the headline act and the rest was a comedian describing sex in a loud voice. However, if you're pissed and up for extremely lowbrow humour, then it could be fun. But for seventeen pounds? I'd go to the Comedy Store if I were you.
