A sexy bar inside the Waldorf Hilton, Homage Bar is a fabulous place to while away an evening whilst meeting and greeting people from all walks of life.

The Venue
Homage is located in the Waldorf Hilton in the heart of the theatre district. It’s a sleek outfit that should be the envy of many venues that are dotted around the vicinity. Once inside, the L-shaped interior is warm and inviting. With themes of dark aubergine and beautiful dark wooden floors coupled with soft furnishings and mood lighting the scene is set.

The Atmosphere
The hotel is luxurious and the bar is no different. Soak up the ambiance of the crowd, some over for business and some for pleasure. If you are fortunate enough to go when there’s an awards ceremony on at one of their function rooms, this does spill over into the bar which adds to a vibrant environment where you will easily strike up an instant conversation.

The Food
Bar food incorporates some classic sandwiches including smoked salmon and cream cheese. There’s also some generous goujons of haddock with a tartare sauce, goats cheese and tomato tartlets and different varieties of club sandwiches. One to salivate over is the Waldorf burger which includes swiss cheese and bacon. Other options include some warm and crispy duck spring rolls served with a plum sauce and a Nicoise salad featuring all the tastes of the South of France.

The Drink
The influence here is on focusing on the most classic of cocktails which have lasted down the decades. Choose from old favourites such as Tom Collins, a mixture of old English gin stirred with a dash of freshly squeezed lemon juice and sugar and finished off with ice and soda water. A refreshing and crisp choice especially whilst laying back on the soft couches that Homage provides.

Another choice would be to go for the Singapore Sling, which incorporates Plymouth gin, fresh lemon juice, sugar, ginger ale, a drizzle of Gran Marnier and cherry liqueur served long over ice. This cocktail certainly hits the spot and you may be swinging from the grand chandeliers before the night is out. Other classics on the menu to try are the cosmopolitans and Martinis which are stalwarts of classic cocktail menus and never go out of fashion.

Beers are another alternative with a good choice of draughts available. This includes the great Belgian white beer Hoegaarden, Leffe blonde, a classic beer with smooth and fruity flavours with subtle hints of bitter cherry and apple flavours plus a combination of cloves amd nutmeg. Other beers to feature here include Guinness Draught, Czech beer Urquell which has a malty almost ale like consitancy and Kasteel, which is another Belgian favourite. There are also some European wines and champagnes to sample.

The Last Word
Lots of attitude in all the right places and with a varied crowd providing lots of interesting characters. You’re bound to have fun at Homage no matter what age you are.
