If i could this place no stars i would. I held my birthday and Engagement party here for myself and 60 guests. My honest advice is to avoid this bar and the events team at all costs. It was meant to be a really happy occasion instead i was left stressed angry and really disappointed. I ended up being placed in an area that i hadn't agreed to be put in (despite having confirmation of this) without any notice. The area was not ready or decorated when me and my guests arrived. I had purchased a 'party package' and did not receive half of the things on that. I complained throughout the night and even though we had a fantastic barman he was rushed off his feet. The female toilets were broken, the air conditioning didn't work to name a few things. If this review hasn't put you off and you do book your party here make sure you have FULL EMAIL CONFIRMATION of what you are getting.
Went to Jewel on a Thursday, early evening; although the place was initially very quiet, it did have a very nice atmosphere. As the night progressed, the evening livened up. Definitely a nice place to chill and escape wherever you have come from.
Why aren't there more venues like this one in London? From the moment me and friends walked in we were greeted by very friendly staff. Great buzz, very good vibe, pretty people, DJ playing the right tunes and cocktails were just mind blowing. I am reading the comments below and in a girl's point of view, I very much appreciate a group of 10 guys being turned away, the crowd you will see in Jewel is anyone from 25-45yr having a good time. Some people just don't get places like these.
High scores from me!

High scores from me!
I wouldn't normally write these, and if I do it would normally be to complain, but this place was different class. I have always walked past and the place seems small from the outside but has 4 bars over 3 floors, music varies according to the time you go, to start with there's some great chill out & vocals and then things hit up later on, playing everything from current charts to well known named DJs.
It was really busy on Friday in particular but everyone seemed friendly, unlike most of the bars near Leicester Square that I usually frequent.
They have an outside area for those rare sunny days in London and blimey, two stunning blondes with the biggest smiles welcoming people. The happy hour is definitely a treat for those who like cocktails without having to pay lots for it.
The bar was very busy but the bar staff was quick and efficient so you never have to wait long. The end of the night is a bit of a blur to be honest, but I remember that it was a great night and a venue I would recommend to anyone reading this!
I booked a table for 16 civilised people on a stag party, under the agreement of Jewel. There were only 10 of us in the end, however when we arrived at the door and I presented my booking acknowledgement we were turned away, despite the booking and our politeness. The excuse was there was too many men in the bar. Outrageous!! Very disappointed, will never try this place ever again.
WHAT A WONDERFULLY FRIENDLY BAR!!
We visited for hen do cocktails at 6pm on Saturday June 4th. I and my group of 10 were really disappointed with our experience at Jewel CG for the following reasons:
1. I had to keep asking for my deposit to be refunded after i was told that this will not happen because i had not been charged in the first place. The manager was unapologetic and took a long time to resolve this issue whilst i was made to feel bad for something that was the bar's fault. I offered to prove that the payment had been taken from my account by logging into my online banking. He did not return to apologise or offer any compensation for the inconvenience and just left the waitress to apologise.
2. Our party of 10 was squeezed into a booth which was too small for the group and we were next to another large group so it was difficult to move around and the table barely contained all out cocktails.
3. The bar was out of almost everything i asked for - olives, emdame beans, cucumber...
4. There was a technical fault with the lights so we were sat in darkness for a long time before deciding to leave. The toilet facilities were also in complete darkness.
All in all - this was a a very disappointing experience which could have been made better with some understanding from the manager on duty. On the plus side, the waitress (long dark hair, not British) was very sweet and apologetic and did a great job. The drinks were tasty and arrived quickly and the interior of the bar and music were good.
Despite of this, I shall not be returning or recommending the bar, in fact i feel that i need to warn people about the bar so that they don't have to experience what we did.
I cannot fault this bar!
It's such a nice place, the staff is very friendly, been there several times.
I booked an area for my engagement party last weekend and we had a perfect night.
We ordered delicious canapés and a champagne reception. There was no hire charge and all our guests were made very welcome. And all had a great time- some a bit too much fun!
Just want to say a big thank you to all the tem at Jewel for making it such a wonderful evening.
Absolutely recommend this venue!
Although I initially had a good time when I got to the bar, by the end of the night I found the staff very rude and disrespectful. If you have ordered drink before closing, do not expect to be allowed to finish it - they say that they provide notice of when the bar is closing but all they do is put the lights on!! We asked them to stay another five minutes but they told us to leave, however when my friends and I were outside (drinks not finished) we saw a number of people allowed to stay. When queried with management they did not like it and just kept telling us to leave even though we were outside. Will not be visiting this bar in the future.
I absolutely love this bar!
It's always vibrant & charming and the service is great.
Nearly 5 stars, just wish they were open until 3am.
My fav spot in covent garden for sure!
We came to the bar on a promotional offer of champagne cocktails and a platter. The staff were rude and unhelpful, the cocktails were only just drinkable and the platter was cold, and didn't have the food on that we ordered, and so we had to send some back due to food allergies. It was also small for what they charge, and the food was all pre processed. I had been to this bar before and liked it, but on this occasion i found it a complete let down, and so would not return.
Jewel has to be one of the best bars in central London and a great place to host an event. The reservations team and door staff are really friendly and helpful. The drinks are perfectly mixed by friendly and efficient bar staff and are very reasonably priced during happy hour (5-8pm). The music’s great and the dance floor picks up later in the evening with dancers and some good DJ sets. I would recommend to anyone looking to host an event or as a place to start a night out
For my girlfriend's birthday I booked an area last Friday and the night was fantastic.
Champagne and excellent cocktails flowed all night and the food platters were good size and really tasty (both the vegetarian and meat versions). Music was fantastic, the DJ got everyone dancing and they had a guy playing the bongos as well, a real character!
Special mention needs to be made of the the staff, the service was great! Our waitress was lovely and the drinks came really quick. Door staff were so incredibly friendly - an extremely rare occurrence in clubs and bars anywhere in the world!
Thanks very much Jewel - I really had an excellent night - and look forward to celebrating the next event with you guys :)
I will try to sum as much as possible my review. Genuinely a great bar!
At first glance you may think that the drinks and food are expensive, but have another look cos they have happy hour, which make really quite affordable.
Cocktails are unlikely any others that you have tried a billion times in other bars and the food is equally good.
I usually go on week days but tried for the first time last Saturday, was really impressed with the amount of good looking girls (sorry, it's important to me!) and the dance floor was on fire!
I would prefer if I could have had a table but the place was fully booked. Next time!
Overall, a very charming bar and great atmosphere. Recommend!
What can I say about Jewel Covent Garden?... The place to be seen! I just love this venue because of the beautiful deco, service, but most of it the crowd. It´s the only place that I can relax knowing that people is not going to be pushing me all the time (because the place is packed), guys are not going to annoy me, and the ones that do, they´re too handsome and sophisticated to get annoyed with hehe...
I would seriously recommend it to all the ladies. It´s ideal (A dream come true).
I reserved a table at Jewel Bar for my birthday party. We didnt get the complimentary bottle of wine we were promised and nor was the service as one would have expected. It took ages to get served and im sure that the AC wasnt working so it was so hot!! No toilet attendants - the toilets were not very nice!
I had a table reserved and was told that my guest could spend on my table towards the minimum spend but i think that the waitresses didnt understand and so the bill at the end was too complicated.
All in all i couldn't relax as i was so frustrated about the whole thing. I probably would go there again for a normal night out but wouldn't recommend table reservations.
After a friend recommending this bar, I decided to celebrate my birthday there and I have to say that I have no regrets at all. Staff were very friendly and helpful with us (always with a smile).
The food menu is affordable and tasty, inspired on spanish tapas, very nice, and the cocktails are made with perfection.
As it was our first visit and my birthday, I was offered a bottle of wine, how nice of them! The bar was full of beautiful and interesting people, great atmosphere, incense and candles everywhere and we loved the service.
I have been there more times after that and every time is just superb. We always feel very welcome, rare to find it in London.
A night to remember... for all the RIGHT reasons!
I went there with some mates and we all had a fantastic time. I had been there once before but long time ago.
We arrived early and were surprised that they offer happy hour. We grabbed a table outside, had quite a few cocktails and some food, that was delicious by the way and soon the DJ start to play.
The crowd inside was good looking and in the mood for dancing.
The service was quick despite being a bit too many people in the bar, the staff was very friendly and know what they're doing, that definately deserve some extra stars!!
I recommend this bar to anyone looking for a good night out.
I was at Jewel Bar on Saturday 04/04/09 for my friends birthday and had a great night. We've been here a few times and know it gets busy so we decided to hire a table, all of this was arranged by a woman called Grace who offered a complementary Bellini for my birthday friend!
We got there quite early for happy hour and were shown straight away to our table and started ordering the cocktails! Happy Hour was great value and there were so many drinks to choose from!!
We tried to work our way through the Cocktails menu but will definitely need another visit to polish off the list!
Although the queues at the bar did build up quite fast it was well worth the wait for the cocktails - my favourites are definitely the Vanilla Kiss and the Berry Impressive, I loved the fresh fruits that they put on top of the glass!
We also had waitress service at the table which cut down on the wait at the bar nicely :-)We had such a lovely time and my friend loved her birthday will definitely be coming back here again soon!
I really liked this bar, its quite hidden in Covent Garden...there were several bars and it got quite busy around 11 ish...
...its a good pre party place as they do 1/3 off vouchers for the month of march between 8 to 10 pm and works out to be quite value for money. Definetly recommend it
This is the second time i have been and i am very impressed with the standard jewel has to offer. The host was amazing and really looked after us, and the waitresses were very efficient. Definitely recommend booking an area!
Had a FANTSTIC night at Jewel Covent Garden this weekend! There was a great crowd and a brilliant atmosphere!
The staff were polite and helpful and seemed happy to be there. Everyone in my patry had a great time and I would recommend to others to book a booth, which acts as a great base for everyone.
This place comes highly recommended!!!
Had my first Jewel experience on Saturday night for my friend's birthday and have to say it lived up to the hype.
The door staff were super friendly and got us in quick!!Inside the atmosphere was great, music was brilliant, crowd pretty cool for a Saturday.
And it's so beautiful inside!!! It was a little too crowded maybe at the bar. Will definitely be back.
I was here for Valentines Day and had a fantastic time! The service was amazing and very friendly, and the DJ was really great! Would definitely recommend this bar for a great night out!
Oh my God! this has got to be the worst run venue in London.... I don't even know where to begin. Poor service, Crap music and full of sleazy guys. I don't know why I even bothered travelling to the middle of no where to get there... Very disapointed.
Jewel Covent garden is awful! The service is terrible and the atmosphere is non existant. I booked a table through late night london. I was told the venue and the staff were great, and on the night I found them to be anything but. Even when the bill came the waitress had the cheek to ask us for a Tip! I will never return again.
the venue is very beautiful and I had a wonderful evening. The staff were amazing and professional. Would definately go back.
They should learn a thing or two with the other Jewel in Piccadilly. The venue looks great but the service was so so bad. The only good thing was the doorman that was very polite.
Shame.
Good venue if you can use the dancefloor! We booked a table downstairs by the dancefloor only to find out we had been moved upstairs. Not only had I not been notified but we were not allowed to use the dancefloor full-stop! In addition our minimum spend had increased because of the table change, and our waitress was so useless that if we relied on her we woudlnt have been able to make our minium spend because she just was not quick enough.
Have been there many times before and its been good but the service on a Saturday night was appauling!
My favourite West End bar. Despite being in Covent Garden it never feels touristy, the drinks are great, the service is very good and the decor is awesome. Five stars!
This bar is brilliant. We had such a good time. The decor is cool and the location is perfect. The bartenders were very friendly and chilled out and our drinks were fabulous. What really made it for us was when the bar man asked if we'd like a seat in the VIP area. The service was excellent! Go there!
Had my birthday party there last Friday, great service, great cocktails - and a beautiful venue. I will definitely go back.
Jewel is an awesome bar. It's a place to take people you want to impress. The staff are friendly, and the bar has an extremely cool vibe. Highly recommended!
This is a wonderful bar, the cocktails are very delicious. The staff is very professional. This bar is just super!
At the bank holiday weekend my friends and I were in London. We have heard only the best of the Jewel Bar, and of course we had to spend an evening there. We found a gem. Our first impression was super! This feeling was enhanced the more we drank. The cocktails were very good, the staff were friendly and professional and the atmosphere in the bar simply fantastic!
There are many words we can use to describe Jewel Bar: stylish, sophisticated, hip, chilled, fun, ambient!! WE LOVED IT! Bar staff were friendly and on hand with cocktail advice. This is a bar for the beautiful people of London; go there and be impressed!

After I have looking on this site, I visited Jewel with my girlfriend on Friday. The bar was well attended, but not overcrowded. The service and the quality were exceptionally good and high. The prices were, for the atmosphere and the performance, very good!
I stubbled upon Jewel Covent Garden by complete accident, it's hidden away in the backstreets, but let me tell you I'm so glad I discovered it. Such a lovely place, the decor is amazing! We visited on a Tuesday on which they have live music, this stunning lady was singing and it was just so perfect whilst drinking our Martinis. This is so my favourite place in London now, I highly recomend this place to anyone who love a classy venue...
