This places amazes time after time. Front of house staff are unfailingly polite and welcoming despite being intimidatingly good looking! They've replaced their chef and the results are an improvement, less waiting, more consistency and the flavours in each dish complement as previously was bit too complex to land well. The crowd and the atmosphere classily relaxed, saw a few famous faces but no gawking just london cool. Will remain on top for some time. highly recommended.

went there last night with my girlfriend. The place was very quite and the staff just flirted with each other. I eventally went to the bar to get another round of their overpriced drinks.

wont be planning a night there is future.

I would definitely recommend this place to any of my friends and colleagues and I think people have given it a bit of a hard time... yes its had a few teething problems but most venue's usually do in the first few months of opening. Whatever problems they've had seem to be ironing out nicely. Cocktails are exquisite, the design visually stunning and the food is something to rival Nobu. Andrew Lassetter does his job well... as do the rest of the staff. If there's one thing McCausland knows it's that the quality of your employees can make or break you and he chooses his team well. I've never found them anything but perfectly pleasant, engaging and above all knowlegable in their respective fields... Guillaume and Thomas particularly stand out.

He may have his fair share of critics...most successful entrepreneurs do, but if you spend 10 minutes in the company of a person as driven as Mr McCausland and you haven't learnt something from him then you're a fool.

I truly hope his second venture does as well as the original Kingly.

i visited here last week and the only reason im giving 2 stars is because of the decor. The cocktails were average and poorly made and when did we start making old fashioned cocktails with jim beam???Prices were over rated and the members of staff in the upstairs bar were standing around flirting with each other and leaning on the bar. im imagining table service or even customer service was not included in their training session.I certainly wont be visiting again

Most of these reviews are so blatantly written by Kingly themselves.. how sad that the bar and experience can't stand up on it's own and requires this level of pathetic self satsifying to create a positive image.Avoid like chinese food in chinatown!

I went to the new Kingly club for the first time last week... I had high expectations after rave reviews. How boring are the people of London? I've seen more atmosphere in an airport lounge- something the interior designer clearly referenced in their inspirations- I'd rather have a glass of vino with British Airways. The clientelle- well, the ladies (if they were ladies) were skimpily dressed Movida-types -- perfect if you are a slimy oil tycoon fresh from Russia, but for us more tasteful gentlemen, I was horrified. The door girl was rude and impatient (she was caked in some make-up of some sort), and the bar staff had that eastern european tone that instigates cheap labour/minimum wage. My drink was quite good, to be fair to them, although you can't really go wrong with a beer.I took a look at the restaurant, for future reference. If i had ever wanted to eat my dinner with the cast of Finding Nemo watching me (do you think they dare serve fish?!) I definately know where to head to.All in all, I had a brilliant time- definately going to make it a regular haunt.See you there

I'm quite shocked by the last biassed review of the Kingly Club St Martins Lane. I went there for lunch only last week and the restaurant was open, could this review be a fabricated one? Its a shame people get jealous when a restaurant does well and take up so much of their time writing dishonest & nasty reviews. For anyone not sure of the place just try it out once and make your own mind up. I read the good and bad reviews and then gave it a go for myself and was blown away by the restaurant. The food was amazing and the attentiveness and politeness of the staff was of a high standard, they couldn't do enough for you. The design on the kingly Club is extremely chic, stylish and elegant . I have never been anywhere like it in the area. I work in the heart of the West End and can't wait to go back there to show off this little gem to my friends who I know will just love the place.

Had dinner with a few friends last week. Had a couple of drinks in the ground floor bar first. They've done a great job with it. Very funky and one of the best arrangements you'll see on the London scene, but the £10 beer I had needs a little consideration by the management IMHO.

The food was outstanding and the service was top notch - knowledgeable and attentive. Excellent Japanese fusion for which I can't identify a decent or comparable competitor.

My only criticisms were that the stair lighting, whilst ambient and aesthetic, requires a good set of eyes to navigate those stairs after a couple! Also the pricing was on the high side.

Was pretty full when I was there. Didn't make it to the mezzanine "VIP section" afterwards so can't comment on that, but certainly will be back to check it out next time.

This is a great venue. I have been going to the orginal Kingly for a few years and this new venue is another feather in the owners' cap. Amazing design, fantastic food downstairs, great drinks and superb waiting staff on all 3 floors. If I was to complain about anything, a few of the drinks are overpriced (£11 for a Saporro beer needs to be rethought guys!!!) but you do not go to the Kingly to check the amount of money you are spending, you go to enjoy a great bar, with great food and great cocktails.

This venue is outstanding.

The decor, food, bar and service- all exemplary. Finally, a venue which is different, and raises the stakes in London.

2 bits of advice to the managers, owners of this new venue.
1. Take all comments onboard, good and bad.
2. If you really want to see how a venue should be run, take a look at the guys who run Paper. Every time I have been there, from the moment my guests and I arrive, to the time we leave. I cannot fault their operation. To sum up; Paper is a very cool, slick venue, run by guys who know what customers want.

Possibly the coolest bar I've been to! If Carlsberg made bars I imagine they'd be like the new Kingly Club. This isn't your average bar, for a typical Saturday night, this is something special. I recently went there for a birthday celebration and what a venue to host it. We started with dinner downstairs and whilst the food at Kyashii easily holds its own against the likes of Nobu, Zuma and Roka, the venue is so much cooler. Another big advantage of Kingly St Martins Lane is that after dinner we simply headed upstairs to the VIP bar (as opposed to cabbing it, and queuing somewhere) and whittled the late night hours away with good music and awesome cocktails.

Kingly St Martins Lane has added another fine string to the Kingly Club bow.... A fabulous use of a 'not too great' old space, and finally bringing some class and style to a boring, ugly part of town. The restaurant is quite simply breath taking and the food is brilliant - as a customer who regularly takes clients out to londons new 'in' places would bring clients here every night of the week. If you are lucky enough to get up in to the really cool VIP area, you are cocooned in an ultra cool leather and plasma shell where you can see the bustling street outside yet no one can see you. The middle floor is chilled out, slick and sexy and the meandering staircase down to the restaurant is alluring and secretive yet opens up in to a vast space that has been greatly created to make two stunning dining rooms, and what has to be the best chefs table in London, with frosted glass or un frosted glass - you can choose by the flick of a switch! Its fantastic and I will certainly be back for a long time to come - and if not, Ill be at the original Kingly Club, by the fish tank!

The Kingly club is by far the leading brand and nightlife club in London at the moment. If you compare it to any of the other groups, clubs, bars etc it has consistently been the best at providing hugh quality service, fantastic drinks and brilliant nights - throughout the week. The decor is second to none and has been masterminded by a fantastically clever and brilliant young designer who has made his mark on the london scene as a very talented and very good entrepeneur. I can see that one or two bad spellers below (annonymous) have obviously been turned away for being chavvy. My suggestion is simple - go to Cheers on Regent street

this place , has to be the biggest white elephant, this decade... i attended the grand GALA OPENING, AND WAS NOT IMPRESSED, in fact i found it all quite comical, and very FAKE, the management are simply far to inexperancied, for a venue of this size, i was introduced to the OWNERS, LOL. WHO LOOK LIKE THEY WOULD BE MORE SUITED IN THE BB HOUSE , but having said all this, i went for lunch today, i got to door @1.30 pm , the mgr was standing outside enticing ppl in off st, not a soul in the place, so i went to pret x at least it had soul

My God, could a venue be anymore up it's own A**E. Do the 'Team@ from Kingly Club really take themselves that seroiusly!!! I can't wait to see the finished Web site. I mean the one for Kingly Club looks like it is a scene from the film 'ZooLander'. All you need now is Ben Stiller as head of Opeerations.....

I wonder if Sashah went to the same venue that I did. Rude staff, over priced drinks, cocktails that tasted very weak, and looked naff. I mean what is next, a beer with a umberella, or cuddly toy in it!!!! If I want real Japanese food then I will go to Nobu or Zuma.... - Report

After all the hype that I have heard about the new Kingly Club, I must say I was So disappointed. From the moment I arrived at the front door, and being questioned by the door Police, as to if I had a booking or was on the guestlist! After 10 mins of searching on their clipboards, they found my booking. I was then lead in to a venue that was half full. My table was booked for 6, but you could sit 4 at the most. Before I had even sat down, I was informed that we only had the table for a limited time. I asked if I could keep the table if there was no other booking? The reply I got back was that they are far too busy to allow me to have the table all night, as they are a new venue that would be attracting A-List Clebs! The next disaster came when we placed our order, Our waitress who was very nice, took our order and then returned 15 min later to inform us that half the dishes we had ordered where out of stock. We then changed our order. After 40 mins I asked her if our food was on the way, she said that she would go and check. 10 mins past, and then what I assume was a manager came over and asked me " If there was a problem", I explained about our order and that we where still waiting. He then went into a demonic rage, saying that we should be grateful that we had a table, and should wait happily for our food, as this is one of the top Japanese restaurant in London..
As I had guest with me I did not want to cause a scene. While waiting for a total of 55 mins, I went to the bathroom, what I saw in there was VILE. Dirty cubicles blocked toilets etc. When I got upstairs I inform my guests that we should leave. I asked the waitress for the bill, and explained that we would not be staying for dinner. On the way out I could hear the manager screaming at the staff as our food had arrived on our table. The one bit of advice that I would like to give to Kingly is the following: While I understand you are a new venue, treat you customers

I couldn't disagree with this review more! I was among a party of 14 last weekend and the experience was outstanding, our waiter could not have been more attentive and the sommelier’s knowledge and suggestions were spot on. There was no delay at all with any parts of the service (especially for a large group), and the food was fantastic. This review does not add up… and I can’t believe the comment regarding the toilets?! Every single aspect of this venue is immaculate and I haven’t been to anywhere in London like it. Maybe this place is so unique that a certain little someone felt out of place?? 11th June seems to be the date for all the ‘Anonymous’ people out there to let off some steam….coincidence?? - Report

Everything about this place was breathtaking , The decor is unbelivable and the service and politeness staff was of a very high standard. The whole feel of Kingly club makes you feel special just to be there.
The main floor is amazing enough but when you see the VIP section upstairs and Kyashii restaurant in the basement my jaw dropped. I tasted many different dishes which were incredible.

I can't wait to get the opportunity to go there again. I can honestly say without doubt it is one of if not the best west end Bar/Restaurants I have had the chance to attend.
I can see this place doing incredibly well!

Japanese cuisine is divine, and the chefs at Kyashi get it just right. I regularly frequent Nobu, am usually a fan of maki rolls and sashimi, but Kyashi managed to awaken my senses and persuade me to try something new. I will definitely be going back. I would recommend it to anyone.

This restaurant is a must see.
