I organised engagement drinks at Kings Cross Social Club in November. We exclusively hired the Joan Collins room upstairs. The whole experience was excellent fromstart to finish! The staff lead very competently by Aarron were very friendly and helpful in organising the party. We were allowed to bring our own champagne at a very reasonable corkage rate as well as our own nibbles for our guests. On the actual night they were good fun and made great cocktails - perfect bar people! The Joan Collins venue itself is beautiful - exposed bricks, full length windows, fireplace, candles and a cool light bar. Great for a private function and a very reasonable minimum spend as opposed to a dark basement bar in soho which usually want you to commit to about £3,000 minimum spend! What we found great was that it suited all our friends - both north londoners and south londoners as it was easy to get there and back for everyone due to its location and kings cross's good transport. All my friends kept saying what a cool little place it was and that they would be back. The bar downstairs seemed to be going off as well with a chilled, unpretentious crowd to good beats. So in summary if you want a great place, which is a bit different, to hire where the staff actually make you feel welcome and want you to have fun rather then soak you dry for your money - Kings Cross social club is ideal! Simon
