There aren't many bars in London that really create "atmosphere." Kona Kai has this in bucket loads. The theme just adds to the fun.

The staff are helpful and friendly and on the Friday night I visited the music was pumping. It only takes good music and a few drinks to get my friends and I on the dance floor - one bad song and we are off. Fair to say, we danced all night! It's easy to find, with good bus and tube links - there's no excuse not to go down and have a good time. One visit and you'll be hooked!

I was looking for a place to go for my fiance's birthday and came across the reviews for Kona Kai. I sent an e-mail through their website and within an hour I had a response and a text to acknowledge my query. I was pleasantly suprised by this random little find.. the music was great, the staff were accomodating and the crowd were out just to have a good time. The layout inside is great in that there's enough seating but without the 'stuffy' feel you can get in other bars.
I can't recommend this place enough for a good night out in the SW area!

I came on here to read other people’s feedback about this place on weekends, as I plan to organise my boyfriend’s birthday due here in January. After reading the previous review, I would like to put my experience across.
I visited 2 weeks ago with my boyfriend and we had a KGB deal. Similar to the Living Social deal, you only pay a fraction of the cost of what the food & drinks normally cost. I cannot comment on individual experiences in regards to the service received (mix-up with cutlery, shakers, etc), but I would like to say that this place certainly does not advertise as a restaurant. I did my research before I purchased the KGB deal and after checking their website and other sites, it’s quite obvious that it is primarily a cocktail bar. Full details of their menus can be found on their website and the food menu is certainly not small for the type of venue it is, but if you purchase a KGB or Living Social deal, it does limit you to what you can order as part of the deal.
They are only open in the evenings and the décor is really pretty, hence why we are looking to hold the birthday here. They have a dance floor and there is a DJ booth. The Swedish girl who served us said that the place is lively on Fridays & Saturdays and can get quite busy.
We loved the cocktails, and at 2 for 1 happy hour offers, it’s certainly a very good deal. The food is not of the Gordon Ramsey level, but it is decent for what you pay, especially given the location of the place. And as for the size of the portions, I would say they are average and above. Their burgers are quite substantial (served with chips and green salad), maybe not the same size as the ones you get at Gourmet Burger down the road, but then you don’t pay £10+ for a burger with extras.
If you are looking for fine dining, then there are better options, but if you are looking for a place that serves amazing cocktails, decent food, good music and eye catching décor, then this is definitely the place.

I am surprised you found the staff at this venue rude, as this was the opposite of my experience. I am even more surprised you had to wait ages for a drink, as this venue has been around only for 3 months or so and judging by my experience on Saturday, although it was relatively busy, it was not bursting at the seams and the service at the bar was flowing. Judging by your limited profile, I sincerely wonder if you have actually ever been to Kona Kai. After all, it’s easy to try and knock down the competition anonymously online.

I felt compelled to come online and write a review about Kona Kai as I had a seamless experience booking my birthday with them. From the initial contact online, the almost immediate reply, the staff attentiveness on the night, the fabulous cocktails and the music, it all made for a great night. It’s a Polynesian themed place with great attention to detail and it is ideal for birthday parties etc. It’s not pretentious at all and I would recommend it to anyone.

Had a great evening at Kona Kai on Friday 2nd September.

My colleagues and I certainly had fun trialling a range of their cocktails (the happy hour prices ensured we could definitely sample a range!), and the platter of food provided (just by mentioning View London when making a group booking) ensured we were able to keep going late into the night - taking advantage of the dance space, and very affable dj!

Would definitely return.

This place is a winner! I reserved a table at Kona Kai for my birthday at the last minute. I didn't know what to expect as I'd never been there before. I was impressed as soon as I walked in: with the friendly table staff, the cool Hawaiian decor and the area we'd been given - high-backed chairs and a wooden "tree-trunk" table. The bar staff were great, quick friendly service and the music was good. The size of the place is perfect: not too big, not too small; and there is a fun atmosphere. Shame that happy hour ends at 7pm but I will definitely go back. Nice and close to the station :)

A brand new addition to Fulham and Chelsea! I thought it was great and had a lot of fun! You can see a lot of effort has gone into the bar, staff, food and drinks! Good party vibe about the place quit unique, like your on a holiday! Will be back for sure with the girlie's for a few more of those sharing boats! Thank you! Xx

We went on to the bar on friday and it was a bit busy but we were able to get a great table in the back overlooking the dance floor. The waitress was brilliant, the cocktails were fun and we had a great night. Everyone was dressed up really nicely and we had no trouble getting in.
