Went on Sat Evening- Got A Seat Straight way was Noisy But It Was Busy And Had A Bar At The Front Though- Food Was Good Had King Prawn Fajitas- Could Of Done With A Few More Tortilla- My Friends Dish Was Very Much Enjoyed- Would I Go Again- Not In A While Was Good but Things Could Be Improved- Service Being One Could Have Done With One Extra Staff And By the Way The Table Knifes Are Blunt.

My friend and I went to La Perla last night. The food was so awful we had to return it. The burrito was stodgy, with raw vegetables inside, a tiny amount of sour cream and guacamole on top. My friend's pork dish was not cooked on the inside. The margherita I ordered had too much salt on the rim and even the chips were stale.

I was appalled. I've lived in California and know what decent Mexican food is (it costs half, or even less than half, of what La Perla are charging). The waitress wasn't quick and the only redeeming aspect to the evening was that the Manager did not charge us.

This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had, the world over, and I have lived in four countries and travelled in over thirty.

You have been warned!

I absolutely love La Perla; stumbled across it about a year ago, now take all my friends there. Its a fab place for girlee food, all picky Mexican fare, and the staff are great.

It does get really busy though so get in there early or you'll be disappointed by having to wait ages for a table, but saying that I think it's worth the wait!!!!

La Perla is a gorgeous & cosy little watering hole! Great cocktails & beers and with happy hour from 4-7 7 days a week who could give it a miss? So refreshing compared to the insipid chains.

The only down side to this otherwise perfect bar is the food - it could do with some work. But nothing and nowhere is perfect so I say try it!

La Perla has gorgeous food, lovely drinks and fair prices. The only downer was the new waitress who should think about a different career. Can't we have no smoking for such a small place?

The first thing that struck me about this bar/restaurant was the professionalism of the bar staff. They give excellent service, and, just as important, they have a passion for the bar's speciality - Tequila.

Cocktails are excellent - and the frozen Margarita is something of a speciality. Bar snacks are available, and at the back of the bar is a good Mexican restaurant.
