We always visit the Lab when we are in London, the cocktails are the best I have ever had, from the preparation to the drinking, and there is always a fun friendly buzz at the bar. It is not pretentious and everyone I have taken here from my in-laws to "cool" friends have loved it.

I went there on a monday evening, and even without many people inside youi could still see the place has character. The cocktail menu is as big as a bible and the staff extremelly friendly. The decor is quite simple, but when you are there near the bar, the only thing you wanna look is the way they prepare the drinks.

Amazing cocktails and great service, the staff really know what they are doing and even the door staff are polite!
For such a well established London bar I have to say I was suprised at how comfortable and relaxing it feels.

Lab is fantastic, when my girlfriend and I stayed in London we were hard pushed to find a cocktail for less than £10, we discovered that Lab serve huge glasses of cocktail filled with fruit for only £7! Plus the music was trance but had a guy randomly playing the flute along with it - superb! The atmosphere was also brilliant and the staff were great, I wished Lab had stayed open all night we wouldn't have left!

In reply to the last comment left, what are you thinking? Lab is a GEM, a sparkling one at that, you Londoners aparently don't appreciate fantastic cocktails.

I've visited Lab twice and both times were an amazing experience. The cocktails are amazing, staff are friendly, attentive and most of all knowledgeable and wherever possible try to give table service. I think that's a winning combination. There is no doubt, next time I'm in London I'll be visiting Lab.

Lab bar was overly expensive, pretentious and the staff were rude. The decor is funky, but the whole atmosphere typifies the worst of central London.

We left Lab as soon as possible, opting for the Wetherspoons down the road and subsequently had a much better time.

Bumped into this site looking for another bar, but hey, the Lab is my favourite in london so...

I've been trying for the last year or so to get a bad drink at the bar. Slow drinks, yes, sometimes, but have you seen what all goes in there? And how can you fault the service? One guy was making - at my count - 17 drinks and still found the time to discuss the history of whatever the hell he'd just made me.

Yeah, Lab gets too busy, but until they find an ejection technician with a magical asshole radar that's just how it is. Sometimes you suffer for their art.

Went to Lab on a Thursday with a date. Great cocktails, friendly staff, not too busy, good music, nice crowd. I'll be back at Lab.

Lab is a nice venue with great cocktails at reasonable prices. However, considering that it is called the London Academy of Bartending, I cannot understand why the barman told my friend to 'f**k off' for asking if he could be served next (after waiting patiently for 15 minutes!). The manager was all of about 20 years old. When I complained to her she said that my friend would have to leave - yet could give no reason. Rude and ignorant staff - won't go again.

Lab offers the greatest and most delicious array of cocktails that I have ever encountered in London (and I have tried most). A firm favourite of mine to be sure, but it always quite cold so take a cardi with you. Still, the cocktails are a competetive price around the £7 mark and the Champagne cocktails are to die for, subtle, clean, hit the spot every time. One word of warning - if you want to avoid the cheapo party goers, try to avoid Friday and Saturday nights when the clientele takes a decided turn for the worst. Not that I'm a snob or anything...

Had heard that Lab was 'the' place to go if you wanted a relatively cheap night in a classy joint! Being a student, I jumped at the chance.

I've never been made to feel more unwelcome anywhere else in London. Door staff, arrogant and basically up their own arses. Bar staff, more intent on chatting to each other that finding out what the people on the other side of the bar, the people who pay their wages, wanted! And the club downstairs, if you can call it that, was rubbish! Full of totally pretentious city wannabes, dancing badly to crap music.

Needless to say, gulped down my 'melon' cocktail (tasting like paint stripper) and left quite sharpish. Won't be wasting my loan in there again!

We went to the Lab on Friday for a leaving party and knowing there were a few of us we had tables reserved and a young lady to do the bar run booked.

Paying a compulsary £3.50 service charge (per round) for someone to go to the bar, order the drinks and bring them back to your table would not be so bad if 1) they could could get the drinks right 2) it didn't take them 35 minutes.

Aside from that...
