I'm not really sure what has happened to Leon, I came here about a year ago and had the best meal/service experience ever, our waiter actually sat down with us and chatted about our day, and he explained that the Leon ethos was not about a restaurant, but us visiting him for dinner, it was really nice, I certainly had never had that kind of experience in a restaurant before. but last night when I went back everyone there was definitely 'at work in a restaurant' the service was prompt and efficient but there was no fun anymore, i admit that at hese prices i shouldn't complain because the food was great, the service professional, but the prices are similar to that of wagamamma or YO, and now so is the experience. I will certainly go back to back, if only to find out if what i felt last night was a one off, but when I first went I thought it was the most extraordinary place and I have raved to my friends about it for the last year, and this visit left me feeling like a 'customer' not a friend.
I've read a couple of reviews on the web complaining about Leon not being a bar, which is weird, because it's a great cafe/restaurant that happens to have a cocktail bar in it.
The food is amazing at Leon. Good, healthy and fast. This is what lunchtime and post-work food and drinks for city workers will be like in 5-10 years - and it's here now. So why the complaints about it not being a bar? People are strange.
I found Leon to be more of a café and restaurant than a bar to be honest, the décor makes it look like a posh café. Drinks are ok, not anything amazing and the service was good. Leon is ok but that’s about all.
