This is really a rather nice place in Brixton. Was feeling slightly unsure due to some comments I'd read beforehand but was pleasantly surprised. Our Large Platter to share was very tasty and contrary to the review below I thought the portion was generous and good value. The service was speedy and pleasant. Think the interior with its orange walls and generic photos of london could do with more character but the ambience was pleasant enough.

Now that the Ritzy upstairs cafe has gone down the pan and been refurbished into a 'bar' I have been coming here more regularly. I like the atmosphere here and the staff have always been friendly and polite. It's a great place for a drink and a chat. The only criticism I have is that the platters, although really very tasty, could be a bit more plentiful and are not really value for money for two. However, I'd recommend it.

Sorry I had to add another review in here. This place is great. I love it.

Really lovely food, I recommend the mezze platters. Cool and funky.

My boyfriend and I decided to go to this place because it looked funky from the outside.

Unfortunately, we did not read the reviews in advance, and ended having one of the worst meals we have had in a very long time.

The service was really bad too. Wimpy or McDonald's are definately better than this bar/restaurant.

Dunno if the cocktails are good, but the food at the Lounge is a huge disappointment.

"Gourmet burger" = deep-fried piece of cardboard - a rip-off at six pounds!!!

Go there for a drink perhaps, but go somewhere else for a meal!

This place is absolutely horrible. They advertise 'gourmet burgers', but you can get better burgers from Iceland.

The service is really bad too. A very rude 'Brazilian/Portuguese' waiter works there. She is arrogant and not very nice.

DO NOT GO THERE PLEASE!

Lounge has a very nice interior and funky music. After the friendly waitress noted down our drinks, the service got a bit dissappointing (long waiting times, not asking how the food was, not apologising for the long wait).

The waitress did apologize for throwing my friend's bread on the floor by accident and got us new bread though.

I think the food at Lounge was too expensive for what we got. So overall I wouldn't like to recommend it.

The Lounge breakfast is, for south london terms, quite expensive. Six pounds for a semi breakfast, which contained one little pathetic tasting sausage, cold mushrooms, no flavour baked beans, 4 slices of toast and some scrumbled eggs.

The other table, who came in later, was being served first. It was not busy at all, but we had to wait 40 minutes between ordering & being served. It was a huge dissappointment and you should definitely have a bigger hangover if you want to enjoy the rubbish Lounge breakfast!

I completely agree with you. This place does not deserve a single visit.

We went to the Lounge for breakfast last weekend and it took 45 minutes after ordering our food for it to arrive. This despite the restaurant being practically empty. When it did arrive they didn't even offer an apology for this lateness.

When it did arrive we almost wished it hadn't. The size of the portions were quite frankly pathetic - the Lounge semi (a cooked breakfast) for instance arrived with only 1 quite frankly average sausage and the beans & mushrooms were cold.

The prices too were outrageous - for a party of five paying £40, the breakfasts were far below the standard acceptable at any greasy spoon.

All in all a terrible experience.

Lounge is just as its name suggests – somewhere to Lounge and chill out at. Great place to unwind with a cocktail and forget the hellish week you’ve just had.
Lounge is divine.
